Based, make shields a weapon
I'm really curious why the devs made 1h/shield rather than 2h the starting warrior weapon since it seems like the lesser option.
And I say that as someone who would normally make both a 1h/shield + 2h alt. My favorite grim dawn class was the mobility tank with shield skills. Here it feels like both the worst option, and completely underdeveloped.
yeah hopefully that comes when pally gets added to game
Probably to teach a new player that shields exist and that Raise Shield is a skill and not just a passive block chance thing.
Easier to show a new player how shield works BEFORE giving the 2hander, since 1H+shield is typically less damage than a 2hander.
Shield bash is a thing in the class already. Check skill level 2 or 3 right side. But thats still based as ♥♥♥♥.
Im talking straight swinging a tower shield like a maniac. The best defense is a good offense.
In theory, sure, but the current build suggests the vast majority of warrs will just go 2h and never think about using the shield because it's suboptimal in most situations.
And honestly, I don't think to the extent there's a tutorial there that it does really show players how to use it just because of the lack of combat feedback.
Perhaps it will change if there's actually something for 'tanking' in the sword or flail trees earlier on, idk. I don't think it quite works in its current mode. Even as someone who wanted my warr to be a tanky type, 2h and dodge just feels superior by a lot.
There's a whole bunch of interesting Block based perks along the warrior side of the tree.
I'm actually keen to try a full shield using some of those.
Especially after I picked up a unique shield that Culls enemies that get Blocked by the shield.
Though TBF, I did intend to see if the passive for equipping a 2hander in one hand works with a shield, so I can have best of both worlds instead of going for dual wield.
Awesome, thank you.
This is what I'm currently running and it's really fun :D
But I need shield weapon now this instant right now need it right now this instant
