Please, PLEASE remove all after-death effects
This is the most annoying mechanic in all aRPGs. It annoys me to a level that I want to quit. I bet I'm not the only one hating it.

I can't count how many times I'm dying after finishing a hard fight, just going for my loot. As a bonus - the loot is lost forever. If it's a mini boss (campaign) - good luck, the boss is gone, empty arena, no second chance (and yes, some of those explode like 2-3 seconds after they are dead).

I'm already having doubts I'd do any late game content with that mechanic in place. I don't understand the logic of its existence.

EDIT: The problem is not "dodge it, skill issues", but the lack of ANY visibility if you play certain buids/spells. When I say any, I mean REALLY ZERO.

In the end, give me a reason why those after-death explosions are one-shot-ing my character (heavy on armor, HP, damage reduction overall). Why?

I'm playing Raging Spirits plus Flame Wall. My problem is not that I can't dodge, but I don't see it. If you play effect intensive spells (that last few seconds), the visibility is basically 0.

It's an arpg staple and you gotta remember that Chris Wilson adores Diablo 2 which is a big influence on this game and the first Path of Exile.

But yeah, death effects add nothing of value to the experience as they're there to be annoying, speed bump, loss of loot just because and they really should do away with the crap but it's a staple, as said and here to stay.

Funny how they port so of the most awful mechs from poe1 for no reason at all. Hopefully some stuff is gonna be tuned down couse its annoying as hell.

In Diablo 4 mobs explode on death, left and right. And players consider it ok-ish. Apparently I was lied to when people said PoE2 isn't Diablo-like + I see PoE2 players are weaker than D4 crowd :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

In high tier maps (i mean 12-13+), it's way too punishing to die just because you didn't spot the white stuff or little purple spike hidden by a corpse ...

And i'm not a glass canon lol. 75% all res except chaos 72%, almost 2k5 hp, 54% armor 76% evade. and you take a -60-90% health because you didn't spot the little glowing flower below explosions, ice, thunder and ignited ground ... WAOUW ! so fun ...

If the death effects were telegraphed like the red bubbling mobs before they explode ... yeah ok i'd say yes.
I prefer to tell myself I suck when i got smashed by a T15 boss because I was stuck like a nobrainer instead of " few 2 elites and a bunch of blues down and .... ah ♥♥♥♥ the little spikey killed me" It's just garbage.

Totally agree with the OP here. It's unfun and doesn't make the game better. It wouldn't be easier nor harder ... it would be more fun to play. The game is already punishing you enough tbf to add a layer of unecessary frustration.

I've seen players with this same amount of elemental resistance complaining about it.

Even YouTubers.

If at this level oneshots are so common for one thing, or for some common trash white mob, anyone below this level of elemental resistance and HP is simply more unbearable.

Which is my case and that of many others.

Not only that, but there was at least most of the time a visible thing happening or an audioque. The explode on death especially the orbs makes me insta click a movement ability or run away in PoE1. Here, you just kinda...Die. Especially from the little things on the ground, they just sit there, waiting, the rare dies and they just instantly explode and bam dead.
