In-game marketplace for items
Starting from the premise that this game was initially promised to bring significant improvements over its predecessor, I believe having an in-game marketplace is both essential and necessary. Just to cite an example, in Last Epoch, this feature words very well—not that I’m saying it’s perfect.

The immersion offered by the game is indeed excellent, but having to minimize the game to open a browser, access a website, buy an item, or wait for the goodwill of a player to be online and respond (especially considering you might not be available 24/7 for this) is frustrating.

PoE 2 was announced as a cross-platform game with cross-play functionality. Now imagine how much more frustrating it could be to access the market from a console. I, for instance, play on PC, but it’s impossible not to consider this aspect. Hopefully, this will change before the launch.

I understand that you need to sell stash tabs and that this change might reduce those sales. However, by implementing an auction house (or an in-game marketplace), you could focus on something that truly attracts both new and returning players: skins.

Happy holidays and a wonderful end of the year to everyone who read this far.

It's not even possible to reach the endgame with just currencies in your inventory, you get my point.

I really wish they would add an auction house, i love playing the market in games like this. I dont want to have to meet and trade with anyone i wanna post something and when it sells i get the currency.

How does it work in Last Epoch? I have that one on my backlog, if the economy aspect is good enough it might worth a shot.

I don't get it, why they don't add that in game.

In Last Epoch, there are two types of economic factions. The first one is the Merchant Guild (market), and the second one, if I'm not mistaken, is called the Fortune Cycle. The second was created exclusively for solo players who prefer to drop their own items. In other words, it's a resource that also improves as you play, and it increases the chance of dropping better items as you progress.

Now, talking exclusively about the market, it works in a similar way. As you play and kill monsters or do anything within the game, you improve your standing with the faction and enable yourself to buy and sell increasingly stronger items using the game's own gold. Within the market, you can sell anything and price it based on the fairest prices within the market itself. Like any game with a market, there will always be players who overprice or underprice items, but the chances of selling items at extremely high prices are quite low because most of the community can find similar or identical items at much more accessible prices. Anyway, the game really gives a lesson on how to create a good system that pleases the players, I highly recommend you give it a try.
