Duplicate Support Gems
Why can we not have several of the same gems? I don't get it, my Minions share like 85% of the support gems and I use several Minions... which makes me use garbage gems for some of them just in order to have some gems in the skills... and I'm only at 3 gems with some Minions, imagine I get to 6 gems per Minion...

Thats just the way it is not sure the reasoning behind it.

Because in PoE1 you used the same 10 support gems on every single build. And it was stupid. Now they force you to use different combinations. It means you either have to think or follow someone's guide who can think. You can't just put the same 3 supports on everything.

It just doesn't make sense with Minions because like I said the melee minions as well as the range/caster minions share like 85% of the gems. That makes it almost impossible to run a full Minion build that uses 6 gems for the Minions because u will run out of gems for them. I think they really need to change some support gems for the minions or remove that no duplicate bs. The logic of the decision also is flawed, people will always just use the best gems - the solution to combat this would be to add more gems that are on par with the best, to make it a hard choice and create more diversity in builds.

This part i can understand but why you can put spell or skill together but have to do it manually instead seems like just overcomplicating things. Not to mentioned some gem support are very restrictive in poe2, many support only work on specific skills and spell, thats it.

Because you aren't going to run with 1 of every minion type in the game. And if you try, you'll be bad. You're going to run maybe, 3 or 4 types. And there is a perfectly adequate amount of gems to make sure they all work differently and work well. You're just griping about min/maxing and wanting an easy time to do just that... which is precisely why they did it this way, so you can't.
Have to play the game the way they want you to play

They don't, though? They literally do not. Melees want to be tanky regardless of dmg, unless we're talking reavers. Ranged/arsonists shine with scattershot, but they both do different types of damage, which isn't a good investment to begin with.

If you want to use the exact same gems on all of your minions, your build is terrible and you won't make it.

I don't mind the constraint but the game should notify you, when your gem-cutting, that you've got the gem equipped, so you don't accidentally make a dupe.
