auto moving to objects

Is there a way to disable auto moving to objects while using WASD control scheme? I keep clicking on loot or containers while aiming at monsters and it moves my character forward. its super annoying

No, OP is right, it is super annoying, I died for this. Even when very far, If you miss click an item during a fight, your character will move to it. Please add an option to remove this it's frustrating

You can use the pickup keybind option under game. I had the same problem on my ranger since I'm using mostly left mouse. If you enable the setting your left click will ignore items completely unless you hold the button to pick stuff up. It's a great QoL imo.

You can hold shift to attack without moving.

Controller is arguably worse for pretty much every game, save for those designed exclusively for consoles with bad ports to PC. POE2 isn't one of those.
