Highly recommend Wind + Herald of ice combo if you can get yourself an extra 30 spirit through equipment early on. Wind + ghost is insane defense if you are going eshield+evasion as well (but hearald of ice is SUCH great clearing potential...it's worth using for non-boss fights).
As as example you can run with a mace/shield as a warrior early on. There is a low level unique shield that adds 50 spirit.
That is enough to use wind and herald of ice while running through areas, and then switch to wind+ghost (if you have enough eshield to make it worthwhile...there is no eshield on the unique shield) on the boss. It even has enough extra spirit for you to add accuracy and vitality to it (boosts accuracy by 30% and boosts health regen, but ach cost 10 spirit to add).
Monk + herald of ice/wind is amazeballs hehe. You easily get a high evasion which lets you avoid getting damaged and now your hard hitting fast individual kills, blow things up with herald of ice. The evasion is nice, but i'd say a good high physical base staff (with added ice damage ealry on, and added physical later), with herald of ice is one of the easiest ways to just fly through content as an early monk.
