PC Restarting upon opening

Hi everyone, I have done Windows update last night. This morning when I try to open POE2 or Deadcells the game loads but then suddenly just black screen and PC restarts.

I have tried the power settings changes, verifying game files, CPU temps are low. I have switched off all Windows defender stuff.

Project cars 2 open up and run well.

Last night late POE2 was running perfect. Had to do windows update and now this morning cant open POE. Even struggled logging in to Steam, was n bit buggy, but managed to sort that out at least.

I remember reading that this new windows update caused so much troubles that if you have some specifi cUbisoft games installed it won't even update to prevent the issue sit woudl cause. And I think th eUbisoft games aren't the only ones that cause issues, my friend said he has similar issues with PoE2 since that update. So yeah ... something inside that windows update causes some problems.

Hahaha I regret it yes😅. I am trying to restore to previous update, hopefully that works. From now on im permanantly switching updates off!

Seems rolling back update did not work. Maybe any other suggestions please?

I will try again thank you. Have uninstalled previous update and will try verifying the POE game file👍🏻

Just for info, the new games I installed a few days ago, Windblown, Deadcells and POE2 shortcuts on my desktop does not have game icon, just a white blank icon.

Basically given up…😫
Tried starting up in dx11 or dx 12 or vulcan.
Tried uninstallting eveything, resetting PC.
Reinstalled gaming, busy with download.
Change full screen to windowed and back.
Tried run as admin.
Anti virus off.
Updated BIOS of motherboard.

Okay, after reading hundreds of forum posts am i convinced that there must be something on GGG side. Have done 3 different windows roll backs. Launch game in dx11/12 and vulkan. Run admin. Set CPU afinity lower, run 2 cores less I7 7800x. Lower power consumption through service manager. Used older Nvidea drivers. Changed shaders. Complete PC reset. Uninstall game and Verfied files many times.

All other games work, only POE2 not working. Guess im one of the lucky people not able to play until new patch

Not the only one.... Can't remember any crashes on this computer (7800x3d and 4090) for any bigger graphical titles.

But PoE 2 had some strange crashes every now and then while just swapping stuff in town, load screens.

And yesterday I did the "Shutdown and update" on Windows without thinking. Well that was a bad idea. Now I can't even get past the character screen without the whole PC freezing up.

Testing some other games that are CPU/GPU heavy and not a single one has any issues apart from PoE 2. All I can see is that the CPU usage absolutely blasts off to 100% and then it all freezes.

I think you should wipe the GPU drivers completely with DDU (Display driver uninstaller) Just google it and follow the instruction with safe mode.

Anything else you changed undo it.

Same problem, just can't play the game anymore, constant hard crashes of my whole PC...

Intel I5 2400F
4070 SUPER TI

Game runs smoothly but It's russian roulette everytime I take a portal...

I am scared these hard crashes will end up damaging my computer, I'll stop playing the game until they fix it

I can no longer load the game up without it restarting my system now. Have tried ever fix I have seen. Other games load fine. I was able to play this morning with no issues.
