The heck you on about?
if you took every single Minion damage node across the entire tree, You'd still have points to put into Spell Damage.
I presently have +100% Spell Damage and +160% Minion damage.
I'm only level 48, So i have way more nodes to pick up and way better gear to acquire.
Average damage per hit per minion is between 100~150 depending on type.
Even if you gave them the biggest benefit of the doubt and say theyre doing 1500 dps... Bone Blast alone pushes 1800 dps AND breaks armour.
Not even considering that i have Frost Bomb active all the time and throw Unleash Comets every time they stack between Bone Blasts.
If your minions are half of your damage, You are doing something very very wrong with them.
They are excellent utility tools, They serve a purpose. Theyre not meant to play the game for you.
why are you deliberately handicapping your build by actively refusing to use any "active" skill, and then complaining that you're struggling to deal enough damage?
like, i also have a minion-focused build, but i'm supplementing it with skills like chaos bolt and unearth, because i have a mana pool, may as well use it to deal more damage...
oh, and if you're running *only* unearth, which is the only minion spell that needs corpses to work, then you're doing minions wrong...
Minions have active skill and of them kills all bosses , many player ae just lazy or whatever
1 archer that reserves 65% spirit and can do a gas arrow that i can't do anything with since i can't also summon an exploder, and that does like half the damage of chaos bolt?
1 exploder that reserves 50% spirit which can commit suicide to do about the same damage as 2 chaos bolts.
or
4 skeletal warriors that don't have a pointless skill and lets me just spam chaos bolt instead?
i guess the gas arrow is somewhat useful for crowds, but i haven't really felt a need to use it...
the reaver frenzy skill helped me with act 2 end boss and another boss poison did not much.
Also, even if you were to spend your every skill point in minions, that doesn't change the fact that you have more skill gem slots than there are minions, you're still carrying a weapon. Choosing not to use the tools at your disposal is handicapping yourself, complaining about being disadvantaged by going "minion only" is like complaining that the game is hard blindfolded.
Upgrading the Level of the Skeleton in question reduces the Spirit cost.
Its rough early on when all you have is 30 from the quest and 100 from Sceptre.
However, You can roll +Spirit on your body and neck (That ive seen so far)
I usually get about 8 Skeletons active depending on what i need at any given moment. Plus 2 from Sceptre skill.
Ill be honest, I never really use those command abilities except the Reavers Enrage (Free 20% damage, why not eh) and when i remember to, Lightning Mage Death Storm since its quite visible and hits pretty hard.
Better off spending that action almost any other spell than most of the Commands.
Hopefully they buff those eventually. Or at least let us choose to allow auto casting. Having to spam the command 6 times to get my Frost Squad to all fire off their bombs is just annoying.
Was ez pz with my 3 snipers and 2 base skellies i got from my wand in bad leveling gear. Beat the mad wolf (A1 end boss) on second try. Not sure what you did wrong but boss is very doable with a totem or minion build.
I'm endgame now since like one week and enjoying it with my minions. Maybe you will catch up in a month. Take your time no rush needed;)
