To add to this, I would suggest the other two options over hexblast. You have to aura a curse to make it not a pain to setup, and it does less damage than most single target abilities, and even if you get the passive that allows you to apply two curses, hexblast consumes both curses but does damage only for one curse cuz it's broken right now
Edit: also, hexblast is not elemental so there is another reason to look elsewhere
Two different games. Most Starter Builds are using unconventional set-ups for campaign and respecing at Mapping. For example, using Monk Passives and weapons to level a Blood Mage to 58 before taking your first ascendancy into Blood Mage. The Synergy is there to make it work.
