Games feeling a little too long?
I know people like going through the story once, but just like with PoE, I think the story takes way too long to get through. Im at 30 hours of a pretty straight forward easy play through and just finished act 3. I know, i know, who complains about too much content? Idk, i really enjoy the mapping portion of these games, the constant improvement of gear by grinding.... replaying the campaign a second time feels like its going to be very unfun.
I was really hoping the initial timesink to get characters to endgame wouldnt be as bad as poe1... more inline with getting 70 in D3, as i prefer to do hardcore as my seasonal journey, but man, 50-60 hours just to start mapping feels pretty damn steep.

I'm not a big PoE1 player, having limited myself to one playthrough and a dozen hours of maps, and I don't remember how long it took anymore. But while playing PoE2, my friends and I caught ourselves thinking that swinging a different character over and over again to high level content would be very boring. I completely agree with that.

It should be easier as everyone gets better and learns strats. Then it's probably below 12 hours full campaign in hardcore for those that have some experience. So only first playthrough takes long.

50-60 hrs? It's much less if you know what you're doing. As for first playthrough, it's decent amount of content. Playing the acts through cruel difficulty is also faster as your dont pay as much attention cuz you know stuff, and your clear speed is also much faster (unless you screwed up with your build)
Same thing on new Leagues - people would take it as PoE 1 and just run through acts. On release, though, I'd still expect it slow as there'd be more classes, more ascendancies, and Acts 4 to 6 which people didnt see yet

Still you should only have to do it once...

You mean once per season or once for your entire account forever? If you want to never do campaign ever again, you can play standard mode, it will keep your character.

I mean having to play the three acts over again just to get to the current endgame.

You are playing cruel difficulty (3 acts over again) because the game is in early access. Cruel difficulty will be removed and instead we will get 4,5,6 acts that have a different story once game is released after 1 year.

There are 3 acts missing, so to simulate the level needed for maps you have to replay the current 1-3 in cruel mode.

I'm guessing that on release the other acts will just push you to maps.

Still a slog on a second character tho... so +1 for skip after completing once/season or in standard

Imagine complaining about game being *too long*

the second run through campaign is easy mode speedrun. If you are not setup for fast clearing and boss nuking by end of act 3 you need to rethink your build

Now start another character and f**kin do it again.

Yeah I won't be playing this game long term without being able to start from level 1 without having to play through the campaign,

People are different. I don't breeze through campaigns and ONLY 15-20hrs to run through the campaign a season is not something I'm prepared to do. Plus the campaign is generic sh*te - I dunno why anyone would want to run through it even twice?

I'm still on act 1 on cruel with 50 plus hours logged. I'm not getting any faster and my toon still feels weak at level 50.

Don't get this mentality of others telling people how they should play and what they should enjoy. Devs seen to think that playing a campaign over and over again is somehow good for you? Just add the option to bypass it all the same, ok? Thanks.

once they add the other acts and fine tune everything people will speed run like they do in po1 finish the story in a a couple of hours and then go back fr the passives. lol right now the game is missing a lot of content lol

You will be when the other acts come mapping starts at around Level 65 if you played the three acts available right now you wouldnt be even remotely close to that. They added Cruel difficulty to close that level gap for now till the other three acts are added. Once they are added Cruel difficulty goes away.

Then you should probably just forget about it then. Dont mean to sound rude but if that bothers you that much then its probably just best to move on now because there wont EVER be a half baked Adventure mode like Diablo has put in. They want you playing the campaign on new characters simply because starting over on a new league they have mechanics your going to need to experience along the way.
