The sale isn't something to do with PoE 2 at all.
It's just a seasonal rotation sale that GGG always do that is occurring across both games.
That the next stash tab sale was coming and when has been known to players for ages. Because GGG do a good job communicating such things for those that look before buying.
You need to remember that both games share the same MTX ecosystem. When something goes on sale, it's on sale across both games, and what you buy in one game crosses over to the other.
GGG aren't about to cancel or change their existing store schedule just because PoE 2 Early Access started.
"Dedicated players" already had all the non-PoE2 exclusive stash tabs (like currency, essences, big premium tabs...) because they carried over from PoE1. The rest could easily be bought with the 300 included premium currency.
The sale is nice for the "non-dedicated" people though.
Yes they have the same eco system schedules i know that, Would still have been a better choice to have it one week prior on release tho and been way more user friendly for the masses and not really a make or break choice.
Anyone at the office could have said "hey poe2 is releasing on friday, lets have the stash tab on release rather then the next week cause most people will probably buy them and it will encourage people to buy them as well while the hype is there, people will probably be happy about it"
Rather then "Hey lets half the player base buy them for full price and then bait the rest of the people that didn't buy into a sale that is scheduled and point out that if they missing credits they can buy a better pack."
Again, no one was baited.
GGG were clear ahead of time what the usual sale schedule was.
If people choose to not look into things and just bought blind, then that's on them.
Own your own behaviour, rather than trying to disassociate yourself from your own actions and put blame/accountability on someone else.
The buck stops at you.
I myself just got me the gem stash tab two days ago. I don't read GGG news or their website, I login via Steam and play the game.
Sure feels bad knowing I could've got it cheaper now, but oh well, it is what it is. The game is great, so it's worth it either way IMHO.
Still feels a bit a bit rude to the new player base, most of them won't have a clue so unless they spend time on discord / reads Xpost there is no way for them of knowing, ofc we can agree to disagree on this.
Agree, but i think it would have been more user friendly tho for the masses if it was done a bit different around release for them.
We all know that the majority of the masses won't read Xposts/discord
Also "big fans" already know GGG usually do same in PoE 1 or have most of stash tabs they need bought from there
As a new player I did my research and bought them all today.
It seems like smart business to be honest.
People know that a sale will come sometime down the line, but some can't wait and buy right away at full price (me for example).
