In depth guides to follow are few and far between, but I was running Merc. My girlfriend was running Sorc. Merc is a grenadier, Sorc is a frost spec. We weren't just picking skills willy nilly - we were following guides.
Appreciate your quick response, but this is meant to serve as a warning for others more than anything else. If my post reaches even ONE person who's on the fence, and doesn't buy, or who already bought, and thinking it's not for them, and they refund - then at least my miserable experience was worth it to help others.
1. If you don't have a party get a party
2. you need a tank with high stun resistance, and that person needs to focus on rez
also be wary that you can't rez in the fog for some reason
Yeah I can kinda see Merc being a bit low on DPS and Sorc being too open to big damage on Ogham if you're not used to the roll to stay alive gameplay
I wish on launch every class could flow as smooth as a Glacial Monk, but probably won't.
Honestly you just proved my point:
- Needing a party for this is ridiculous.
- Needing a dedicated rez for this is ridiculous.
- Needing to cheese a fight just to win is ridiculous.
If this game had a neon sign saying "FULL PARTY REQUIRED FOR GAME PROGRESSION" displayed at time of purchase, I'd have gone "Ew, no" and skipped. /shrug
He already uninstalled it, and asked for a refund, no point in giving him help.
I also play ARPGs since D1, I'm an old fart. Experience in PoE (and you will get that) > experience in other ARPGs in this game. It just takes time. There is plenty of useful help in the internet to make your start easier.
Edit: I dont play a cheeze build btw...
Dont need a party to kill a boss lol. Just need to get abit resist before the boss to negate some of the damage. It always been like that in poe that resist helps alot against them. Think i had 20-25% cold resist when i did it and using dialogue sounds do wonders too since he speak before he jumps out of the cloud etc.
Then Spark + Orb of storms. Use that until endgame.
Get nothing but dps and Mana regen until Act 4.
50% hp boost
that aside
he does frost dmg.
get frost res and you'll be fine. don't stand in the stuff. dodge the big bad woof. kill the adds
you'll be fine.
