Path of Exile 2

Is respecting really that expensive?
My issue with poe 1 was not having the ability to experiment with builds. I found following a build really boring so I never really got into poe that much. I was hoping that poe 2 was different, but I'm hearing how respecting the skill tree is even worse than poe 1. How it cost like 2k gold for a single skill point. I haven't played poe 2 so just want peoples opinions that have messed around with respecting in poe 2,and how it compares to the first game. The thing is I don't really care how challenging a game is as long as I'm able to experiment, and try out new things to get over those hurdles, but when a game punishes you for simply experimenting that feels really bad,and a waste of time.

Yeh it's pretty expensive, considering they'll also be nerfing left right and centre because it's EA will get frustrating for some.

Not really.

Having common respect for you fellow gamers is free, until they lose that privilege for whatever reason.

That really sucks. I was hoping they just let you make your own builds in this one. I guess I'll just wait, and hope they change there minds about it,but doesn't look like they will. 🫤

Good video, and he makes excellent points. So many hours played, and even he cannot afford respec.

A full skill points refund is going to be costly. At the same time, how often does a player need to respec that much. Even for those experimental builds, the player should know beforehand how much investment is needed. So don't experiment if you don't have leftover gold for a few full skill points refund.

We literally have entire builds being nurfed by 90% in a single day

With no free respec given

Costing high level players 4,000 gold for a single passive point respec

It's all wrong atm

They need to reduce the nerfs, its too harsh and sharp in a single move, they need to reduce it by 10% at a time instead of 90% and collect data and then nerf again later by another 10% until they find their happy spot

They need to give free respecs to any class affected by said nerfs

If the intention is for players to find everything good/bad in EA to make it polished for 1.0, they need to make respeccing free

OR

They need to reduce the cost of respeccing by 90% (in line with their nurf %) so people can actually try stuff out / fix a character that has been nurfed into the ground by a patch

In its current form it sucks

In the poe 1, you had the option to fully respec your skill tree after changes, and I'm curious why that option is not available now.

No....it should cost zero. If players want to try a completely different build/ascendancy they should be able to whenever they want. It's so draconian to still charge for respecing.

That was then they did overhauls to the passive tree and not nerfs

respec is not time consuming

literally took 2 maps worth of rare drops vendored for gold to respec 34 points off my cast-on-freeze sorc.

around 30 minutes.

people just like to make mountains outta molehills.

So if you were the level of the people in the videos, it was costing 5600 gold per point.
$5,600 x 34 points would be $190,400. And we are supposed to believe you made that in 30 minutes?

Ive never seen worse fanboys in a game than this one. They act like the devs are divine beings that can do no wrong, it is quite crazy.
