There's a support gem "Rising Tempest", that gives 12% more ele dmg for each skill used recently of different element. This hasn't been triggered by monks Elemental Expression ascendancy skill, which has all three elemental tags. I was looking at gem dps tab, it hasn't moved at all, while it did with a normal skill of another element.
