Bug: Map portal disappear on death.

I just arrived in maps, did a few without dying, went back to town only to identify/sell/disenchant and used up one portal like expected.
Then I died for the first time and all leftover portal disappeared. I assumed a random bug, did another map, finished it and was curious: After completing the map I got myself killed and yes, all leftover portals disappeared again.
2 out of 2 deaths eliminated all portals, of course that is not a big enough sample size to come to any conclusion, but it appears to be a bug I can easily reproduce on my character.

Does anybody else have this issue? Is there a workaround for it, maybe pop a townportal open as soon as I get to the map?
