Glory is a terrible mechanic
Hammer of the gods and spear of solaris are unusable due to this glory mechanic. Why not just give them a system similar to vaal skills in poe1 or a large charge up like plasma blast for crossbow.

I have yet to get a chance to even use spear of solaris due to the glory mechanic. Things die before being stunned and or do not provide enough glory to ever use it. On bosses you might get to fire it once before the boss is dead even with quickly stunning them.


Also, speaking of spear of solaris why is the damage fire based? Shouldn't it be lightning considering the entirety of the other spear skills? Its not like I can use a mace with spear of solaris so fire damage is rather poor game design here.

Im spamming the spear pretty regularly with my bleed build, I build up heavy stun based on my bleed bar. It's pretty solid imo, but their should be a couple more avenues to obtain the resource imo, maybe blocking/evading hits can add to it idk.
I went back to standard league to test my warrior, and considering I only use hammer of the gods on rares or bosses, of which I would have killed a horde of mobs to get to, I didn't even notice the mechanic.

Edit: Does glory gain through stuns or kills? This is how little I even notice the mechanic... I kill through stuns with molten blast that explodes the enemy, so if it's stuns or kills, either way, I get it for every rare or boss I come across.
I can see it be a problem for someone not applying stuns if it only gains through stun, but also, if you don't stun with your build, I imagine you'd just use a different skill than one that activated through stunning?

As stated in the post they die before stuns fire. My standard league warrior was completely gutted his entire gameplay was totem fissure with hammer of the gods as the main attack.

Limiting skills to only be usable on sunday if the opponent has green hair and a two handed sword that glows is absurd. The skill is not activated through stuns. It is not a skill that needs the target to be stunned it requires glory. Glory is a stupid mechanic.

Supposedly it is only gained from heavy stuns. I have the opportunity to use it once outside of a boss fight and I am heavily invested into stun with my spear smith.

Glory is horrible mechanic. If the main issue was people abusing the cooldown and high damage. Why didn't they just put a cap on how low the cool down could go? I didn't mind the damage nerf but half of the damage nerf? I don't understand the logic... Now my main attack kills everything before i could use hammer of the god sometimes. The fact that i need to accumulate glory is even more freaking stupid when dealing with elites.

Solaris is the sun while Lunaris is the moon... fire and cold. POE lore.

Only meant for bosses or rares since magic and normal mobs just die before you inflict heavy stuns ( Stun bar under a mob life bar when filled) to get Glory.

You have to work it into your build to get it to work. Also It doesn't need to be huntress as you have 2 weapon sets. For example you decide to lob a Spear of Solaris with your infernalist... Bleed based physical melee build with bloodhound's mark seems to knock down bosses real fast. Anyway clunky but fancy.
I think I might be an idiot or something. Heavy stun is when the white bar fills up underneath an enemy and then another attack that kind of stuns them (with the whole "i'm about to fall over" animation) right? And then you get glory based on the power level of that enemy?

Where do I see these stacks of glory pop up? I look at the top right where my buffs are and there's no increasing number. I look at the Hammer of the Gods skill in my skillbar and nothing changes. I'm "heavy stunning" groups of 10+ mobs with my totem, I don't see any change.

Am I missing something here?

i tried Parry build huntress, in fact Parry is the best skill for stun enemies and able to use Spear of Solaris, which i can use it pretty much very often even for white mobs.
Problem is, yes, it is fire based as i dont invest on anything for fire elements, it deal pitiful damage even i put fire penetration support gem, also the skill took long time to use and the area of effect is very small, it pretty much cant hit anything constantly.
I felt like this is the skill for warrior if they want to use spear and parry, lol.
