I need some guidance for monk.

Is this normal or is Monk ♥♥♥♥♥♥ useless weak ♥♥♥♥ that cant do anything. I mean all of the 3 bosses are kicking my ass so much. Boss in front of the town 5th try. The frozen witch in the first map 7th time and the ♥♥♥♥♥ I mean the witch in Greywood or what is the name I still cant ♥♥♥♥♥♥ beat. Is this normal or the game is just to difficult for me or is Monk really useless. I might be crying here but this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiculous. Any advice that can help I'll take.

Nope. I just need help it feels so freakin hard to play monk and I need some pointers.

Did you get any gear that gives you elemental resistances? If it's chaos damage we unfortunately don't get much loot to counter that until near the end of the campaign.

I'm not sure about how monk feels this league but in the previous one it was all about the bell damage against bosses, I even dropped 2 bells, like 2 bell skills, at the same time to boost dps, it did feel a bit weak hp wise even then before the evasion got nerf though so I imagine it would feel even worse now

Nope. I am at the beginning of the game. I am like level 4 so I dont think there are mobs with chaos I think. The problem I see is that as a Monk you have all of the beginning skills being frost based. And guess what every single boss that I encountered is resistant against. Really great job by the developers. I just finished the tree boss in the forest I think Brablewood or something and guess what -> frost resistant. The first boss witch in the clearfell again -> frost resistant. Its freaking hard to play and now I encountered unstable servers to boot. I guess I give it some time and play something else for a bit. And try it tommorow when I wake up.

Its a rough start for the monk but once you get Ice strike you can do some more damage. You won't get it till later like level 12-15? I forgot. Try to stack elemental resistances, especially cold for the final boss of act 1. Also just gotta get lucky with gear. A good quarterstaff with attk speed and high physical can do wonders.

sky not just spec killing palm and falling thunder and slot lighting infusion + martial tempo support gems into falling thunder, though monks do have a harder to launch start so many opt to run a spear, bow or crossbow until second tier quarterstaff skills unlock, regardless in the skill tree you should be bum rushing flow like water though the crit nodes directly into mindful awareness into step like mist as most of your issues are getting hit and things not dying fast enough, this solves both those.

If your super set an an ice build grab essence of the mountain from the skill tree after the evasion stuff and start using glacial cascade right it needs range so you must open with frozen locus into glacial once locus freezes, regardless your straight up dumping these skills once you unlock ice strike + wave of frost as those are more flexible.

You pretty much don't play "monk" up untill certain lvl's. Do with that information as you please. Also watch sarge's speed run maybe?

My monk at 85 atm in this leagues, it's zooming around and clearing everything without any issues. Still quite strong class !

I am not following any guides I read the passives and I decided to go with the path of evade and energy shield which looks like it doesnt work because I dont think I evade anything at all and still get 2 shotted by bosses and some of the trash mobs have attack where you have like 1 sec to react to whats happening. I dont know. I just bought the game on PC maybe its the controller that is not for me. I am gonna try it here again as Monk.

Two things I focus on with Monk attack speed and critical chance/damage then choose what element or type of damage you want to throw in right now lightning is a solid choice and is the go to for many people this league for clearing fast.

monk is a pain to level up as melee. Some people uses range like bow to level up and transition back over later level.
