All the ones I found, the wisp was there.
i dont know how this works post campain/endgame, but i think the reason why you dont see the wisp is because you ALLREADY killed the ELITE it was going to fly to.
i noticed that, but i can still be wrong
Then that's a terrible system lol. I thought you followed the wisp so it spawned a mob not take you to a mob you could find anyway lol
It appears to be a pointless game mechanic
its not pointles thou, you get more affixes on the enemys, which is good.
It is pointless because you'd never know if the affixes were different or not lol and the ONLY 2 Ive ever seen drop nothing more than a normal rare would drop lol
in general the loot drops in the campain are not good. don't know if the wisps make a big difference there.
but the more affixes a rare has, the more and better loot you get. theres a formula for that, that i totally forgott.
i think in endgame the wisp can actually make a difference. but dont quote me on that ;)
From my observation, it chose the closest elite and goes for it. Its not tied to any elite before you trigger it.
Big problem is on maps that are "spiraling". Wisp measure direct air distance so while nearest elite might be 20 meters away, the actual path might take a minute of backtracking toward the start.
The OPs problem is probably killing all elites on map. So wisp despawn but npc stays.
Yeah it's a daft system. I mean a system tied to a mechanic that you MAY or MAY NOT have killed is already rediculous. I mean at least make the NPC teleport out if you've killed the mob. As when you get to him he ALWAYS says there's a wisp nearby when there very often ISNT lol
Its EA. Ppl still forgetting it. This is hows coding (not just games) done. Make core thing, make it functional, then polish it. Post them feedback, leave the drama away.
Tweaking behavior, targeting and pathing is rly minor and easily fixable issue. Its acceptable for EA.
