The aim is off. When are we going to get an aim fix!?

This is not my video, but it shows exactly what I'm dealing with. No one seems to have a fix for this and its driving me nuts.

There isn't even a problem here. There is a cast time for most spells and the direction is set at the start of the cast time, not the end. I mean, they might change it to allow you to change direction mid cast or something but nothing is bugged or broken.

I think he's mainly referring to the left and right aim, and that truly must be bugged. You won't really feel this during normal gameplay, as you don't really "snipe" in PoE, but for some reason only vertical aim is accurate, not horizontal, strange.

Seems accurate to me. You're just not accounting for the fact you're viewing it at a tilted angle. The fireball is above the ground, not running along the ground. It's just a view angle thing.

Seems fine to me. Cast speed. Projectile speed. Animation speed. All three affect how things look. Still hits the intended targets so it doesn't matter. Once the skill doesn't 'lock on' to the intended target it's not a bug. Unlike Rolling Slam which is a huge issue.

Does not look bugged to me.
As I see it, the mouse draws a line to where the character is standing (the feet).
The character shoots in such a way that the projectile flies over the exact point where your mouse hovers (not where "you" see it, but straight down to the ground).
Because the camera is tilted, this looks off, but it makes sense.

mouse and keyboard or keyboard? If you holding shift, it is the direction vector that the cursor and the character make. In mouse, you have to click a target and hold it. controller has a different ui. we do not have tab targets and they do have "to hit" rolls.
Maybe if you use AWSD to move while casting (or use controller), because you cast in the direction character is looking, which mean that if you run away with AWSD your character wont turn when you cast a spell. That's why I use mouse click, so even if you "kite" you would face the enemy in the good angle by just clicking on him while casting.

Some spell require cast time too, but the character will still be in motion, you have to time those.

It feels like StarCraft APM. PoE will kill my left mouse button.

the aim isnt off. where your cursor is, is ground level for the fireball. it exists in a 3D space leaving your characters hand which is 4 feet or whatever off the ground. it looks weird but its not incorrect

it is almost mostly irrellevant as the game has auto aim and if you have a mob targeted it will only ever cast where the mob is no matter where your mouse is pointing.

however the dev should calibrate and change it.

It seems strange to need to point at enemy feet when attacking. If I put my cursor over their chest, it shouldn't be firing 3 feet to the left. People are talking about auto aim, but I'm not playing with pad. I'm using WASD movement.

The auto aim is not about where the mouse is, but what enemy you have "selected" targeted. You can click and hold on zombie, and then move the mouse somewhere else, and the firebolt will still shoot said zombie, and not where the mouse is.

Edit: You can somewhat work around this by spam clicking, insted of holding down your attack skill key/bottem.

Spam too much, so you have queued actions due to lack of action or cast speed.

Hold down action can be bad too as it locks to the mob you are targeting. And again, action/cast speed action happens at the last action, mob dead but you queued one or more actions...

If you have godly amount of action or cast speed, you hardly notice it. Especially skills with speedy animation/projectile speed.

I just aim at the feet, its super annoying but its the best way to get used to at since you are still technically aiming at the thing you want to hit but its just not where you want to be clicking and it feels like dog to have to mentally compensate but the more you play the less annoying it is, Im 200 hours in and it still doesnt feel great but they probably wont do anything about it.
