Feeling Discouraged with PoE2 Endgame Content
I feel like there's no real sense of progress, and games are meant to be enjoyable. Losing XP just isn’t fun, regardless of whether it’s due to a build choice or something else. This kind of experience isn’t what I personally enjoy, and I’ve noticed that many others feel the same way.

In my opinion, waystones should offer a choice: one type could grant more rewards but come with the risk of losing XP, while another type could be safer, with no XP loss.

it is 100% soulless and pointless. you can already tell how fast this game died because of how low the forum activity is. this game is right off the cliff.

I really like the game and want to play it but i just log on try a juiced 15 and die and log off, my build isnt that great but im invested into its gear and dont feel like rerolling atm.

Just alt f4 and try again if you're that insecure about xp loss lol. I don't usually do such no-vaal trick except only in situations like prowling shade froze me as i leaping or any sign of server lagging

Honestly, the only time I feel myself irked about xp loss is when I’m about to level up.

It’s more punishing to lose the map modifiers. But, I found some fun in just making new chars with wacky builds, my monk can farm fine, I’m close to a witch hunter farmer. Working on other classes is just more fun after 250 hours of hardcore grinding imo
Yea I am at the point where I log in and and either try to run T13+. die, and log off. Or log in, run T10-12 and get bored and wonder why I am wasting my time. I have not picked up a SINGLE item that got me excited or was an upgrade. 100% of my gear outside of Act 1 has been from trade. I am resistance capped, 1610 HP, 1054 energy shield, and constantly 1 shot in every T13 I have attempted. Running along, mobs blowing up and all of a sudden I am dead instantly. I dont mind bosses 1 shotting me but random trash mobs? Give me a break, instant log off for me

You need to teach yourself not to care about XP, you can't go down once you lvl up. It's all in your head , there's infinite content , if you just stop caring you gonna be fine.

This has to be one of the dumbest replies I have read tonight. XP is a massive part of these types of games for ppl. It is literally one of the core feelings of progression, another level, a little more stats, another passive point. Not to mention it is one of the dopamine hits for ppl playing ARPGs. Nothing is more of a kick in the nads than being 80% of the way through a level to die to something you never saw, couldnt see, and apparently came from some random white mob. Like why even play if you just get punished by something you never had a chance to avoid

ROFLMAO , it's a game if you get upset about game that's you problem. End game is litteraly infinite , you can do 1000 maps if you want + all other content there is to do. You getting bend over cuz u loose tiny bit of XP that you can easily get back is you problem.

You don't loose gear on deth (like in some games), there's no durability (like in some games), there's no debuffs on death (like in some games) just a bit of XP loss and you so hang on that?
It is you issue, it is you problem. Enjoy stressing yourself to point of madness cuz of a game, it's funny to watch.
There is no XP loss in hardcore, GGG solved it.

There's currently 120k playing right now in the dead of night on a weekday.
That's a very healthy game.

Back in the days, most PoE builds were designed around lvl 80. Thats where builds were "finished" with some optional progress pass it. Today your build should be "complete" around lvl 90 which is fairly achievable.

So change your mindset. If you keep lvl 100 as your goal in your head, you will just suffer 4ever. In the decade of PoE, i had only very few lvl 100 characters and getting there is not fun and most players has absolutly no idea how insanely grindy it is.

Take 90-100 as just 10 bonus skill points that are not important. Get to lvl 90 and enjoy the game.

the XP penalty on death is horrid.
Too easy to die and takes too long to grind XP, then hours of progress wiped out in a second.

I believe I have partially resolved the issue by having a 5K energy shield and 63% evasion. Losing XP is rare, but it still happens occasionally. Thank you all for your replies!
