Path of Exile 2

Path of Exile 2

Will I need to do the campaign all over again?
I'm on Cruel Mode now finishing up Act 1 Cruel, hoping to get to my hide out and Atlas soon.

When the new league is out and I'm ready to make a new character will I have to do the campaign all over again to get to mapping or do temporary leagues work differently? I know in Diablo 3 seasons had rifts you could do at any time and ignore any campaign content, is it like that?

When the new league comes out and you play on it, you start with nothing. You create new characters, your stashes are empty, and you need to play the campaign again.
They are very adamant that they will not allow people to skip the campaign, as it's been in POE1 for 12 years, and POE2 will be no different.

Fyi, you get hideout and atlas after you finish all 6 acts (so after Cruel 3).

You can probably continue with your current character but he wont be part of the new league.. but again not 100% sure with that as this is beta so they might just do full wipes..

But either way if you want to play in the new season you will be starting from scratch.

You do keep everything you bought with coins, like cosmetics or new stash tabs. but you won't keep anything else, including contents of stash tabs or endgame progress. And they don't seem to be planning to ever add a second way to level up since they never did so in PoE1 as well. So yes, we do have to complete the campaign again with every new character we make, even when we make a second one in the same league. Though in the future we will get acts 4-6 which will replace cruel difficulty.

Yes, on ever character in every league for all of eternity.

The only way they could have campaign skip is by either having level scaling or by just givibg you a lvl 60 character from the start. i really dont get why people ♥♥♥♥♥ about replaying a 6 hour campaign once every 3 months. Diablo 4 lets you skip the campaign. Play that if it's such a big deal.

It's not a big deal, I was just wondering how it works on this game.

Makes sense. I kind of like the idea of going through all over again with a new character so I can try new play styles. I'm just cutting through the cruel acts quicker than I thought it would!

Well now that just sounds dandy

Oh yeah I know I need to finish all the Cruel acts, I just am going through them quicker than I thought! Been having a great time in Cruel actually and finding things I missed the first go around.

There are quite a few who wish to skip campaign and jusp to endgame after the first initial runthrough.

But you also have about the same amount of people who want the campaign and have a few difficulty setting for the campaign. Basically repeating all 6 acts in normal cruel, and masochist mode upon release. Some do not enjoy endgame and some of them want something different than just endgame to reach cap.

All options should be in the game to attract a wide variety of ARPG fans.

True, more options is usually better. I sometimes worry that I won't get to endgame - but like what's the rush if I'm having fun and seeing where I could take my build? I do wish I could access the hideout at anytime though for purely "cozy" reasons lol

yeah. also not sure if you know this but you can look at the map and see if there is anything important like bosses or chest if you want them. no need to explore unless you want too. just look and see if there is anything worth finding then proceed to the next map.

The campaign is the best part.

I would prefer repeating all 7 Acts at two higher difficulty stages than do endgame.
