Path of Exile 2

Are Exile Exchange 2 and Sidekick Still Safe?
I've recently gotten into the later parts of the endgame, which itself entails a lot of mass trading. I want a faster way to check all these items rather than just manually putting in the info, and I've learned about these two third party tools. All the information I can find about them is from at minimum a month ago, and there really isn't any recent info on them. Are they still safe to use? I understand they are both open source on Github, which is great, but that still doesn't necessarily mean they are safe. I don't exactly know the best way to even check if they are regardless besides putting file hashes in virustotal, but I don't want to do that for the billion files in each of them. Are they each still safe with verifiable proof of them being so?

Talking about real money transactions *from third parties is actually a banable offense.

I say this because 'they' get their supply of currency from 'hacked' accounts.

What does this post have to do with real money transactions?

They are 3rd party tools to price check on the trade site, has absolutely nothing to do with RMT lol

To OP you should be fine, but like any 3rd party tool use at your own risk.

If your looking for assurances from GGG on which are safe, you won't get a response.

I'm implying this:
How do they, who engage in selling RMT, 'hack' an account?

Do they:
- simply guess a password?
- require the victim to buy anything?
- use 1337 skills to force control of a random persons computer to monitor its activity and extract their PoE2 account information?

There's always a risk with anything like this. The creator might have no bad intentions, but they can't ensure someone isn't imitating them or that their upload is otherwise compromised. There is a reason many uploaders have to include a legal disclaimer that you use it at your own risk.

Have you any clue how GitHub works?

they only way these overlays can "hack your account" is if it requires your session ID and you give it to them.

Sidekick does not, I never used the other one so I dunno.

I use Sidekick (NOT THE OVERWOLF VERSION) since the game came out and I never had problems even during the "hack" wave.
Simple to use and I think its pretty safe if its not the overwolf version.
