Character name already exists :/ ...

This has probably been posted before, but IT NEEDS TO BE DONE AGAIN.
It is almost impossible to create a new character with any other name than a random generation of letters. Anything else seems to already exist. And dear devs, know what .. I DONT CARE, if the name does already exist! What is it with the unique identifier crap - if I cannot play this thing because I give up at generation out of frustration.

Please use _ within your name. I created my own guild and use it as a surname for all my characters. So it would be name_guild.

You do not need to create a guild. Just use a surname or version since there will be leagues.

Like Name_L15 or Bender_Insert_Feul

Day 1 - Everyone create lvl 1 toons to reserve all "good" names
Day 2 - No one will be able to get a good names anymore
Day 3 - Sell an microtransaction that allows dupe names

Yeah its dumb how they have it when you play solo be default. One thing I liked about D4 my toons shared same name often

Never had issues getting a name i want, some choices are obviously taken by now but if you really want something specific, use the less inventive _ in your names and you should be good or do what lot of folks do and prefix your name with something, like the league name (when they start) and so on.

If you still cannot get a name you like then go stare into a mirror till you figure out what the hell is wrong with your noggin.

Your coping is cute. You always show you do not do research.

Under your poe account section, there is a rename selection on the right. If you click it, you come to a page to rename all your characters from POE1 and POE2. in the bottom left of the framed section it tells you have how many free character renames you have.

You start with 20.

I was very angry I could not get a cool name. Even the esoteric rare literature names were taken. All the Malazan book names were taken - every single twist of any Tolkien name was gone, and every greek and latin form of Greeks was taken; Akhilleus Achilles Akhilles. Even stupid norse names like Kanute /Canute were gone as well as Fafrd / Fafherd. I am so mad about this but I was able to go with a Templar "de" and surname which was not taken so I was able to play the game.

Memes and obscure pop culture references are the way to go. . .

. . .but that requires a tiny bit of creativity so I get why it is so hard to the average gamer. . .

Maybe try to be original? I have 3 names I have used since playing tabletop in the mid 80's and never had them taken unless it was my own character. And then I use surnames or versions since this is a league reset game.

But then you get those who think they are "creative" and they come back here with a topic about they were banned for this name or that. Why? They thought their, political, religious, or memelord name was funny and nothing else.

Just keep with names. We have several FAFO topics about following your example. They begin with "I got muted/banned cause my name"
