Low FPS and Lag, Nvidia GTX 1070
Hello Poe 2 Community,

I hope to get some help improving FPS or information on how the game performs on PCs with similar hardware. My game is currently barely playable and barely is already a stretch. Depending on the area, the game has an out-of-fight mean FPS of 33 to 44. In fight, I have noticeably bad fps, micro stutter, and so on. The fights are certainly not enjoyable, and in some cases, it's so bad it affects my ability to react to stuff happening.

I have already reduced the graphic settings. But so far, changes have had little or no effect. In the Nivida App, the settings are fully set to performance, which is lower than recommended. I also updated to the newest driver.

I understand that the GTX 1070 performs worse than the recommended RTX 2060. But as far as I understand, they are not that far apart in performance. Also, as I understand, the GTX 1070 should have far better performance than the minimum recommendation (GTX 960).

My setup:
OS: Windows 10
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50GHz, 3501 MHz, 4 Core
Memory: 24 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1070

My guess is it's your CPU: 3.90 GHz on something that's about 10 generations old just can't cut it, especially with only 4C/8T. CPU also keeps you on DDR3 RAM too.
It's the CPU. I had a 4790k. There are <10 games that cpu cant run but its becoming more common. All big sim games, mmo's, etc.
As other's have mentioned, your CPU is well below the min requirements. Time to upgrade, or settle for subpar performance.

That CPU came out in 2013, are you really looking for advice other than upgrade your gear that's over a decade old?
Same boat bro, cant play it because im using the i7-3770 :revolver::KSmiley:
Very, VERY old components you got there. There is no surprise you are struggling, I'm even surprised how you can play the game at all. Time to upgrade my guy.

I bought my first "gaming" PC in 2016 for about 1k euro altogether that had an i5-4690k which at that time was already a very budget option.
So yea, that rig of yours OP is about a decade outdated, it is impressive that it runs windows at all, let alone any AAA games from the last 5 years.

Funny thing is, that processor ain't that bad. Played through games like RDR2 and Cyberpunk on launch with a similar build on mid-high settings at 60 fps with some drops. But yeah, as of right now op and anyone that's been waiting to upgrade, this is not a bad time to do so.

Game running like mashed potatoes? 🥔🤕
Boost your FPS with Potato Mode! Sure, the graphics take a hit, but at least it runs. 😉
