If your game freezes, and you've tried everything else, do a hard shutdown of your PC when it freezes by turning off the switch at your power supply, wait 5 minutes, then turn it on.

If your power supply doesn't have a power switch, just unplug the power cord connected to your power supply, or if the power cord is connected to a surge protector/power strip turn it off there.

This cleanses temporary data that you can't find (even in RAM) that results in looping issues, like persistent freezes at similar points in gameplay. Just restarting your computer, clearing the temp, windows shutdown, or using the PC's on off switch won't cut it.

I am 50% sure that this will stop the frequency of chronic freezing. If it becomes consistent again do the same thing.

This has worked for game freezes, other than PoE2, for me since 1999 when I was playing Populous: the Beginning and countless other titles.

At that time in PC-Gaming crashes, freezes, were extremely common. Also worked for me to resolve consistent blue screen issues.

This won't necessarily resolve all freezes, but it should give you much more time between them (hours to days).

Nah dude I have the same issue since last patch before the game was running fine
since the latest patch, my POE2 freezes/crashes every 5 minutes or so. Sometimes it's a full crash of the game. Sometimes the screen just freezes for about 10 seconds and then returns to normal. Sometimes it freezes for a few seconds and then dumps me back to the login screen and says "unexpected disconnect occured". Very strange.
task manager > details > set affinity > uncheck cpu 0 and 1. do this everytime u start the game
I just disabled 2 of the cpu cores in task manager affinity and the issue persists. I've had absolutely 0 issues with this game since launch. Now, suddenly, it's unplayable.

you can have less crashes if you will make longer breaks between them - right now it's only reliable solution.

Fix the problem with CPU freezing, how long can we wait, even CTRL SHIFT ESC -> details -> poe2 (unchecking the first two processor cores) doesn't help anymore with windows 11...

I'll say it again. Try this:

If your game freezes or crashes nearly the same way at the same point in launch or game content, and you've tried everything else, do a hard shutdown of your PC when it freezes by turning off the switch at your power supply, wait 5 minutes, then turn it on.

If your power supply doesn't have a power switch, just unplug the power cord connected to your power supply, or if the power cord is connected to a surge protector/power strip turn it off there.
