Path of Exile 2

Path of Exile 2

Was my first PoE game. Will be the last.
First boot up and the game told me "You dont have access to the Early Access version of this game, please go purchase to play", CPU ramps up to 90+% while in the trader town, stuttering while traversing the map during fights, and now crashing has started after trying to use gems and skill slots.

Coming from D3 and D2, this was extremely disappointing to say the least. Had high hopes as I heard great things from buddies about this game.

The crashing started after the 3rd hour, hence why i have 5.4 hrs. I have requested a refund, i doubt I will get it...hope you guys have better luck.

First bootup, I played the game.

In town there is a lot of lag because you're sharing it with other players. Like any other game, you have to fiddle with settings for performance, YMMV. No crash a thousand+ hours in.

Coming from every other ARPG that existed before this, my expectations were met. I didn't have "hopes" for a video game. It's either good or bad, and this was exactly what I expected.

The crashing hasn't started after the 1000th hour, hence why I have 1000 hours. I haven't requested a refund, and wouldn't even if there were issues because it was paying for access and some MTX points. The game will be F2P when it launches, so I hope anyone who can't handle an early access avoids the game. Especially those who's "buddies" say its a great game yet all of the complaints are about crashing and not the game itself. Did your buddies say "it's super great even with all the crashes?" No, they didn't. Mine didn't either. Their complaints are all basically summarized in not liking POE in general. Which is fine! They can play something else

Why did you pay for your 'first' poe game, when you could have played PoE 1 for free to see how it plays. Then if you enjoyed that, you could try the 2nd.

In any case, I'm wondering if the issues are related to windows 11 and the latest patch perhaps? Regardless, you can turn down the graphics where it'll run as a low resolution, low graphical settings and even lower resolution to upscale the game.

Tried those things? No, I'd guess. Just came here to complain that an EA game seems to have performance issues and crashes on your machine...but 200k-300k people are playing this consistently. I'm thinking it's more an issue with your machine, rather than the game itself.

But hey, let's not look for what it actually could be...let's just complain about the game and sulk, wishing you can refund it.

What PC do you have that it caused this?
I am running it at 144hz QHD without much issue.

While I appreciate your assumptions of how I game and what I know, it just doesnt fix the core issue of the game heating my house with only my CPU now does it?

i9 14k
4080 FE
Samsung 980 NVME's (2)
32 RAM
Win 11 24h2 @ 2k Native (120hz) , tried DLSS as well, only impacted GPU which was expected. I tried scaling down as well, but then the game becomes a bit blurry per my taste.
