Path of Exile 2

Path of Exile 2

Turning Jewellers into 3 tiers brought a major flaw that can be easily fixes
With poe1 jewellers you could get any number of socket if your item allowed it
The odds we just lower the higher the number of sockets was

But in POE2 this has been reworked to have Jewellers giving specific number of sockets

the major flaw this creates is... useless currency

Im sitting on 400 lesser jewelers because it has been like a month that i have not needed them

Once you use one on you main all your skills, they become useless. Hence why they are 1exalt: 130 lesser jeweller on trade

Simple Fix to this:

- Lesser jeweller orb grants 100% chance of second gem socket, 10% of a third, 1% of a 4th
- Greater jeweller orb grants 100% chance of a third gem socket, 10% of a 4th
- Perfect jeweller grants 100% of a 4th socket

That way you dont get obsolete currency
and you still give people the option/path of trying the odds VS going for the expensive yet sure route

not a flaw at all, just trade them away for 1 exalt per 130.

on the other site your "fix" would dramaticaly reblanace the value of socket gems.
you could just ask for increasing the droprate of perfect orbs by 100x instead.

whatever, maybe the devs just decided that "loot" is more important for their game then simply inventory gambling

See, and here I was going crazy about getting more "Lvl 2 Jeweller orbs" when I could reforge them 🤦‍♂️

GGG will definitely hire you for poe3. You show them how to make a proper game.

Remove Artificer's Orb and just make Jeweller's Orbs replace it.

they cant, otherwise theyd have to fire dozens of devs that lack vision, the same devs that went on a questionable holiday break just after releasing a halfbaked halfbaked product
Just what the game needs, more gambling....

Is it really gambling if you still can get the fixed outcome?

It’s just classic arpg rng which acts as a sink for a overaccumulating currency

Huh? All gambling can "get the fixed outcome"

According to your logic, you'd only need ONE currency and just adjust the droprates of it to match their desired rate of dropping. Nobody wants to click thousands of times to "maybe" get a slot.

And it's not a "useless currency." You can trade lessers for exalts and trade exalts for perfects. If you look at the costs you'd see your system is already in the game, but it's not 100:1 its currently. Your numbers are insanely out of whack if you think 100 lessers = 1 perfect.

100 lesser jeweller's orb gets you 1 exalted orb
309 exalts gets you 1 perfect jeweller's orb

ie, 30,900 lesser jeweller's orb gets you 1 perfect.

This is because in the content that people are farming at the endgame, exalts drop more frequently than lessers.

Have you played this game or read most of the complaints regarding "loot"? lol

Yes, and they're all vapid. What do you expect when you have as much depth of items and rarer/more common affixes? I've gone through 1,000+ 2h maces and it yielded about 10-20 valuable ones. Most roll common affixes that are useless, or less common ones that are underpowered. But you only need 1 valuable one to never need another, right?

There are many BIS items that are farmable. Every activity in the game has one or more.

SSF people have done everything in the game. Loot's fine. What's not fine is people who don't understand basic economy of the game offering "changes" to something that isn't broken.

I don't think understanding the economy is the issue. Or it's not the only issue. It's more about not understanding statistics, probabilities and numbers in general.

what a stupid statement lol
If i havent needed lesser jeweller orb in a month... what do you think somebody will need 130 of them for lol especially when they are raining... for everybody haha

having them work the way i suggested would be way better as it would at least create a sink for those useless currencies and give little crumbs of hope for people striving for more sockets but having no luck
tbh i was very disappointed to find out that you can't reforge 3 of them into higher tier, like you can do with waystones. feels very inconsistent.

you can try to enhance an item with chaos orb , but in the end you most likely just break your item. same goes for vaal.

it's not crafting if you can't afford omens, worth at least 10 div per try to lock suffixes or affixes.

noone told me so far how high the chances are to get what could be useful to others, a new build or exactly what I want. would have to look into item mod weight.

The chances are very slim.

Now with jewel orbs, there would be a downside needed to go instead to 3 to 4 or even 5 slots.

And somehow you got this already with vaal orbs.
