Path of Exile 2

Path of Exile 2

I'm Having XP penalty bug
Since i created a new character, a high level 86 player help me speed run, and i disable the Level Downscalling.
And then something weird is happening, I was level 16, in Valley of Titan, which is level 28, me and another player which is level 14 doesnt get any XP, but the one who is level 24 keep level up.
And after i leave the party, I went to kill enemies in Deshar, and i still get the XP penalty, so i have no choice but back to Halani Gates, which is level 18, to kill some enmies.
And guess what, i gain normal XP there again, and level up fast, it seem i cant get any XP if i kill enemies on map that way higher level than me.
Has anyone experience that bug before?

Yeah theres anti boosting measures at play, i think you have to be within 10 levels to yield exp from kills.

TLDR play the game dont boost.

Yes in path of exile 1 you could not gain exp if you were too low level or too high level. This was to prevent boosting/power levelling.

If you want to get "power leveled" during the campaign, you have to do one of two things. Either turn downscaling on so the level 86 is downscaled closer to your level but still high enough to get through the content quicker than you would or find someone no higher than 10 levels above you with downscaling off. Once you get to maps, none of this applies anymore. You can join a level 86 in their tier maps and as long as you're close enough to the kill you'll get crazy xp. Assuming you can stay alive long enough while they kill stuff. For example, I was level 69 when I joined someone doing T13 maps. I managed to stay alive til the end and got 2.5 levels from that run. Just food for thought.

IMO best way to go about it is just to sprint to the bonus objectives that offer you a buff and then just rush check point to check point. Youll hit maps at like lvl 50 55 ish which is a little low but you can just farm blank tier 1s for exp there.

I just did some grinding, its not just level 10 within, you only get most XP from campaign map that only few level gap,
