I have no idea why but some damages bypass my energy shield for some reason

I've been playing for a while now, I know that some attacks like bleeding can bypass the energy shield. That is not it. Sometimes there's a fire explosion and it will bypass it, lightnings bypasses it too sometimes. I am hella confused as to whats going on. I've test it out with keeping 1 enemy alive to test it out and yeah, for some unknown reason, when they hit me, it bypassed my energy shield.

What I hate with this, its the fact that it pretty much one shots me without even me knowing why I died most of the time.. I've tried to search online, look at all my stats, gears, skills, maps' modificators and nothing says that some amount of damages will be applied directly to my life so I'm hella confused!

I was thinking of going for the chaos immunity 1hp, but with the fact that not only the chaos damages penetrates, I am so unsure if I should go for it now...

Is this a bug that I'm experiencing?

are you by chance using a mana flask that takes % from life when used?

bleed/poison ignores ES. Chaos used to as well unsure if thats still a thing, i think it just does double damage now.

Nop, not the flask, like I said, its on hit by enemies and like I said, its not bleed or poison. Fire explosions pass through, same for lightnings!

I'm wondering if it could be one of my corrupted items that gives that is simply not displayed at this point...

it literally could even be a modifier the enemy has.

Maybe? But it happens quite often and a LOT even when nothing is written under them?
