Yea its just not a fun mechanic and totally interrupts the flow of combat. I'm still in Act 1 myself and these mobs are stunning me and body blocking me constantly. Just not fun at all.
I find myself just in a constant retreat to overwhelming forces which I have no mobility against. After several deaths i just play something else.
You have to plan for a swarm, plan an exit move, plan to have skills to push the enemies and make a gap, etc.
Complaining about a game mechanic which makes the game more interesting than just clicking attack buttons is more interesting. It's why SO MANY combat games have included the ability to dodge to mitigate damage from attacks. However, many people would rather just complain about not having an 'easy life', standing in front of a boss for a few minutes, or in a pack of enemies, just swinging a weapon....la de dah...swing swing swing...pew pew pew.
I would suggest that you do what many soulslike players do: go into combat without attacking. Just try to avoid damage for as long as possible. This will give you more familiarity with the dodgeroll mechanics and teach you to avoid death.
I seem to be getting stuck constantly in mobs and objects. There is simply no way I can escape.
