ARMOR STILL NOT WORK!
Armor in the game remains useless, there is no point in adding 15%, if the value is = 0, it could be added 200%... it would remain useless if damage mitigation doesn't work, it's just a number.
obs: arrow kill with 1 shot from normal monsters.

warbringer lvl 85
71 armor + 46 blocks
75% fire/ice/thunder 60% chaos defense...

Overall I agree with the OP. Having played characters focused on ES or ES/EV armor is a distant 3rd, mostly due to life not scaling anywhere near ES. With ES you can get lazy, take big hits and keep on trucking. With an armor, health focused build you get one shot often if you mistime rolls.

Followed a Kripp build when I first started that was a Witch Minion build focused on life with armor and it sucked. Switch to ES, dropped armor to almost zero and I now rarely die since my total life with shield tops out at close to 10k and I am sure we have all seen folks with ES getting close to or exceeding 20k.

Looking forward to the reset. The way it was explained, it is going to be huge. Hopefully some serious new content along with the major fixes. And will they give us each act per reset or wait to give them all to us at once?

Unless I missed a new video this morning, they just implemented said intended changes yesterday and the mobs, like the specifically mentioned grenaders, have already been toned down.

As mentioned, I'm playing an endgame tanky character and it does *feel* tanky. Things I have to avoid like a rabbit to a fox with my ranger, this guy laughs at, literally leaping into crowds preceded by a wave of blinding grenades. He only runs from mobs to round them up.

If a regular warrior just with resist, armor and health can facetank, what's the point in actually building a real tank that does get the passives and modifiers that enable an in-your-face build that is designed (successfully, mind you) to get close and generally stay close?

However, rather than figure out how to deal with a variety of incoming damage (mitigate it by dodging, or at least saying mobile, adding levels of evasion and or ES, etc.), they would rather come on the forum and complain they just can't face tank a group of mobs without getting killed.

For them, these 'one-shot' kills are unfair and a cheat/hack by the devs, rather than figuring it out as a gameplay challenge to work around.

Yeah it's almost as though Warrior has a bunch of skills that force you to stay in place for long periods to actually work coupled with other skills that require setups to properly use.

The "Gameplay challenge" for warrior is about taking defensive passives and gear to give you the beef needed to tank a few hits while lining up the long cast Slams.

It's a problem of Effective Health.
Damage Reductions are worthless without the raw health to survive the reduced damage.
Currently, ONLY Energy Shield offers that effective health, Being literally just a blue health bar.

When you have 75% resists across the board, capped Block Chance and 80% Armour DR but get deleted by trash mobs while trying to fight in melee with your melee weapon, the game has a problem.

What's the point of armor if you have to dodge?
The problem friend is not wanting to face the problem when playing after minions or lightning!, accept the fact that the warrior is weak and dies from a dry leaf on the ground! most skills need to be charged! if you have 1 or 2 archer enemies on the map... until you charge your skill! You're already dead! and this is the reality of the warrior! ( google translate )

Well my Titan is way more tankier then my monk. Your build is just weak af if you die to white mob arrow :steamsalty: but hey work on your max block, invest in HP (5k is optimal) and get more max res - Warrior have a lot of max res nodes around his starting point :majinbuu:
This game was rushed and have many flaws. It's more beta testing than EA. The video the game director posted last nightz he was in full panic mode.

Usually Early Access is way before an official Beta ....

So easy to get 75% evasion which you can evade just about every type of attack while armor does not mitigate against all types of damage.

Evasion is great and easy to get until you get 2-3 hits in a row due to unluck with its rng, find a layered approach to be the safest beside the mandatory max resists
With high evasion, getting chain of 3 hits is rather unlikely / close to impossible with how the system works against good or bad luck, with what has been called a 'entropy' or 'pity' buff/debuff by knowledgeable members of the community- even 2 hits in a row with 75% is rather uncommon (less than 6%, while straight math would suggest a raw probability would be 6.25% of any two random attacks in a row both hitting). Similarly, evading 2 hits in a row with 25% evasion is also unlikely.

In the big picture, though, 75% evasion will evade about 75% of the attacks, assuming normal monsters of the character level. Its just not straight RNG.

Even then, in the late endgame, if 2 standard strikes/projectiles will kill you, rely on other defensive measures. Like walls, slows, pinning, etc... or even get some armor or ES. It is more commonly recommended to get ES, but which is better depends on how much life you have, I say.

It signals pretty clearly that they did intend for some method of play for warriors that did not rely on dodging. But because armor is too weak in its current state, even after a buff, this isn't really viable. So the question is, did the devs decide to just add a trap skill to a unique and the talent tree as a joke, or are they failing to deliver on the promise of it? My money is on the latter.

Fair take; I like the perspective!! I hadnt considered that, and yeah, I even said in Global yesterday, I can feel the 15% improvement (Im a Titan that Primary Dual 2Hs but Sec. with a 2H + Tower Shield) but it could use some more fine-tuning.

Nonetheless, you're absolutely right; they need to tune for people that DO want to stand in the face of overwhelming blows... I also feel Extremely they should do much more for Warrior as far as Elemental/Chaos res is concerned; our Tree literally has *NOTHING* for it.. its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Especially, as you said, if they expect builds to "stand in the line of fire of blows" then what about the other dmg types??
Just felt like since you really emphasized "literally NOTHING", it should be pointed out that they do have max res and elemental res nodes in their tree. Check again.
