Followed a Kripp build when I first started that was a Witch Minion build focused on life with armor and it sucked. Switch to ES, dropped armor to almost zero and I now rarely die since my total life with shield tops out at close to 10k and I am sure we have all seen folks with ES getting close to or exceeding 20k.
Unless I missed a new video this morning, they just implemented said intended changes yesterday and the mobs, like the specifically mentioned grenaders, have already been toned down.
As mentioned, I'm playing an endgame tanky character and it does *feel* tanky. Things I have to avoid like a rabbit to a fox with my ranger, this guy laughs at, literally leaping into crowds preceded by a wave of blinding grenades. He only runs from mobs to round them up.
If a regular warrior just with resist, armor and health can facetank, what's the point in actually building a real tank that does get the passives and modifiers that enable an in-your-face build that is designed (successfully, mind you) to get close and generally stay close?
Yeah it's almost as though Warrior has a bunch of skills that force you to stay in place for long periods to actually work coupled with other skills that require setups to properly use.
The "Gameplay challenge" for warrior is about taking defensive passives and gear to give you the beef needed to tank a few hits while lining up the long cast Slams.
It's a problem of Effective Health.
Damage Reductions are worthless without the raw health to survive the reduced damage.
Currently, ONLY Energy Shield offers that effective health, Being literally just a blue health bar.
When you have 75% resists across the board, capped Block Chance and 80% Armour DR but get deleted by trash mobs while trying to fight in melee with your melee weapon, the game has a problem.
Usually Early Access is way before an official Beta ....
lol
That video wasn't even really for PoE2 you dildo.
Evasion is great and easy to get until you get 2-3 hits in a row due to unluck with its rng, find a layered approach to be the safest beside the mandatory max resists
In the big picture, though, 75% evasion will evade about 75% of the attacks, assuming normal monsters of the character level. Its just not straight RNG.
Even then, in the late endgame, if 2 standard strikes/projectiles will kill you, rely on other defensive measures. Like walls, slows, pinning, etc... or even get some armor or ES. It is more commonly recommended to get ES, but which is better depends on how much life you have, I say.
