Path of Exile 2

Path of Exile 2

New Patch is crashing constantly.
I've never really had any issues up until today after downloading the new patch, it seems like every time I go to open a new map, or sometime returning to a map through the portal has been crashing my game back to Steam about 7/10 times. I'm not sure what changed, but I VERY RARELY had any issues previously, and I've put over 400+ hours into the game thus far. I don't get any error message or anything, the game just crashes and I'm able to immediately load back into the game like nothing happened only for it to crash again on trying to return to my map in progress. Just now I've been trying to go back into the map Creek, and it has been crashing my game every single time without fail.

Any suggestions or replications would be appreciated.

Got the exact same problem. Played 230 hours so far without any problems but can't load a single map after the recent patch. I already turned every setting to low (not that my pc required that but just in case) and that seemed to crash the game about 3 seconds later so that i also lose a portal on each crash (before it seemed to crash befor the map was loaded and I kept all the portals).

Yeah I'm hoping that they will have some kind of hotfix or something, because I've never had this issue and now it's rampant in quite literally 100% of the maps I try to play I crash back to Steam every single time. It's nearly unplayable for me at this stage and it's very upsetting because I've been super hyped for this new patch. I wasn't expecting it to brick my game essentially.
215 hrs with zero crashes until now!!!

Used to crash occasionally using DX12, rarely crashed using Vulkan. Now since today's patch, I cannot log into any of characters without the game locking up my PC forcing a hard reboot.

Can't start a single map now since I downloaded the new patch. Crashes every single time.
UPDATE

I switched my rendering to Vulkan and now I'm not having any crashing issues. I was previously on DX12, and for reference I'm running on Windows 10. It's not the best performance wise, but it seems to have bandaged the issue for now.

If you're on DX12 try switching to Vulkan.
If you're unaware on how to do that in game navigate to your Settings menu

ESC > Options > Graphics > Display Settings > Renderer > Drop Down Menu > Vulkan > DON'T FORGET TO SAVE YOUR SETTINGS.

If you are a NVIDIA user like I am, make sure your drivers are updated as well.

In terms of the overall issue, my speculation of the issue are the shaders after a major patch because this has happened once before during a major patch in POE2 as well and I fixed this issue in a similar way.

IF YOU ARE STILL HAVING ISSUES AFTER SWITCHING.
Try to delete your POE2 folder in %appdata% then re-launch your game. You may have a performance hit for a bit while your shaders are processing but that has also been shown currently to fix the issue.

Hope this helps anyone having the same issues! Happy mapping exiles!

The only fix is to turn off multi thread rendering before loading into anywhere on the map. Then turn it back on once loaded in. It’s painful to have to it. But it’s the only thing that will actually stop crashes. Had to do this for over a month now.

280 hours before patch, rarely crashed.
After patch i cannot even play for 10mins before crashing.

I switched to Vulkan.
Now 1 whole day 12hours+ without a single crash.
I had 2 or 3 crashes total before the latest patch. I have at least doubled that number since. It only happens during loading. I'm able to play fine, but it is annoying. I'm talking a freeze.
