Anyone Else Thinks Act 3 Is Boring?

anytime i reach Act 3 I get demotivated and I have to force myself to keep playing, atleast in the beginning of Act 3 before draining the water. And after that it's still boring but somewhat more doable.

I'm not sure what it is exactly, but I think it's that there are no interesting quests maybe. You are essentially Trying to get a Mcguffin in order to progress, but we've done the exact same thing too in Act 2.

Act 2:
>Get blocked by sandstorm
>visit numerous areas to gather items for some horn
>Remove sandstorm with horn
>fight boss

Act 3:
>Get blocked by water
>visit numerous area to find item to drain water
>drain water
>repower the pyramids
>visit numerous areas to collect stuff
>Timetravel gate
>Travel through numerous areas to fight boss

It follows the same flow as Act 2 but with way more "filler" content that's not really interesting.
Could also be that I'm not a fan of jungle levels and aztec themes, though inside the pyramids with the robots and human experiments are kinda lit.

It just feels like a bit of a slog and rather unfinished.

Except for act 1 which is somewhat supportable, the other acts suck hard. And they force you to do them twice before dying in endgame because of the gpu driver crash.

Might be because I’m an old nostalgic bloke but all acts are boring to me

The only sections I find interesting and immersive are the ones in act1 that have that Diablo 1 vibe

Medieval catacombs >>>>> Inca temples

In another universe there is a game with Poe gameplay and Diablo themes and backstory… I want to be in that universe

i too think act 1 was good and the pacing it think is perfect too. not too long, not too short. tho maybe it could be a tiny bit longer.

Act 2 is somewhat fine considering you see quite a few new interesting areas (mines, desert, mountain caves, city, dreadnought).

Act 3 is just act 2 but without area variety and it's way longer.
inca temples are really boring yeah, except for that time travel area where it's just 1 big blood sacrifice and inside the temple with all the vaal tech is cool too.

it's just a slog to get through.

Agree. I like 1-2 acts, but 3 is so boring and too large.

Funny fact: POE 2 have a similar situation to diablo 2 - where most of the players hate act 3. Also design of the acts are siimilar too: 1 - forests, meadows, fields. 2 - desert. 3 - jungle.

Having the Artbook and looking thru it, I think you'll be really excited for Act 5. I can tell you where act 4 and 5 are and the descriptions. I'm sure you can find pictures or something online too. I assume act 6 will also be in a more medieval setting looking at the story.

act 3 wouldn't be too bad if the later acts are better

Draining the water is not the most memorable thing is act 3 imo.
Exploring the Vaal stuff is what comes to mind when I think of act 3.

But during my first play, I think act 3 was actually the most interesting to me. I think mostly because I played PoE1 for a long time and know about the Vaal, Doryani, and Alva.


Now, I don't care so much anymore. Alva can stfu.
But if I had to order them, 1,3,2.
Act 1 = Best theme
Act 2 = Desert sucks
Act 3 = Most interesting

I enjoyed 1 and 2. but yeah for some reason i do find 3 a bit boring.. I think its because some of the maps are just too big... but they have been working on that.
