I press start game, the screen goes black for a moment and then the game crashes.

i can get into the game only for a few minutes and then it crashed...sometimes less than that...still have no clue on whats happening.some says it is due to graphic card driver....some says due to game shader

Go to PoE 2 properties inside Steam, set the launch option: --nologo

Go to the PoE 2 folder C:\Users\{name}\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile 2\ and open the file called poe2_production_Config.ini

Change to renderer_type=Vulkan
(or DirectX12)

Make sure you have an updated BIOS for your motherboard, as Intel is well known for their self-destructive behaviour.

I have seen this work around mentioned in reddit and other places but that file path is completely blank for me...I have same issue as OP here - screen goes black then just closes...theres no menu, theres nothing AT ALL in the production config file folder to edit...its completely void of any code or typing whatsoever its just a blank file - I have downloaded the game well over 10 times since dawn of hunt patch with no avail

Maybe look at the PoE 2 game folder. So, "Browse local files" through Steam, or "C:\***\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Path of Exile 2\"

There should be a subfolder called "logs".

Look for the file "Client.txt". Opening it and searching for "crit client" will show critical errors. There might be some hints on what is happening.

Searching for "settings directory" will show where it saves the settings.
