Path of Exile 2

Path of Exile 2

Why did you take the fun out of the game GGG?
Loved season one of poe2. pacing in campaign was good needed more side quest with loot/currency rewards early game so you can keep your character viable.. End game pacing was okay. Mapping was fine. pinnacle content needed to be easier to get to but harder to defeat. Not nerf the people that can defeat it. Id Would spend 6-8 hours a day running maps at a clear speed of about 8 minutes per map to get 1 or 2 divines and roughly 50 or so exalted in a 8 hour day and they nerfed the clear speed. now i run 100 maps in 3 days get very little to no currency or loot that's worth anything to drop.

The FUN in the game is killing stuff for a reward. so you can take on harder challenges. You took the reward away or made it take so long to obtain that it is no longer fun. You broke most of the classes that where fun to play and slowed the game down even more nobody wants a slow arpg. . Nobody whats to spend that many hours investing into a character/game to feel slower and weaker as you get higher in levels. The power curve should grow at a steady rate.

Now starting end game is a slog fest. clear so many x level tier maps was fine and get your atlas points once you complete each tier. At tier 10 is when you should be clearing nexuses not tier 1. I cleared my first 2 corrupted nexus and there's no more to be found in any direction i have tried. So now i cant level my atlas tree, cant progress. cant get any currency to get new gear to make my character better to progress. feels like im playing for nothing. fun is what keeps players playing not slow meaningful combat. slow is not fun in a arpg.

I would agree. But this is not part of "The Vision". The devs want mindless numbing grinding for nothing. Which is what is happening right now and if the devs don't pull their heads out of their asses there will be huge numbers of players walking away period. The only players left will be the "Yes Men". You can hand those guys polished turds and they would love it.

I could handle the loot issue, crafting isn't super hard, but the mechanics are pretty un-fun right now. No amount of loot can fix Jonathan wanting us to spam abilities, discourage one button screen nukes, while also saying they don't want players to ever feel tanky.
No dopamine hit of loot would fix that. I feel like you guys are so stuck on the loot you are not seeing the problem underneath.
they follow blizzard n 1 rules

Fun detected, Fun removed.

It was never there to begin with, just the promise of it. They just upped the intensity of it during 0.2. I think most people agree T15+ was considerably less fun in 0.1 due to what I mentioned above. They just made that issue apparent much earlier than T15.

Do you want a hug? You need a hug friend. I am totally fan of what PoE2 can be, super fun game potential. Like, jumping and the take off feels great, then hitting your head super hard on a ceiling.

If you think I am defending at times, and attacking in others... Perhaps consider the world isn't black and white, and that people can like aspects of things and dislike other aspects of the same thing. Sorry if your world was so incredibly simple and black and white before you learned how to read my comments, but if this is really that rage inducing to you, wait until I tell you about how Santa isn't real.
Game definitely needs some help in several departments but I am still having fun. Pacing of the game is great, could be 10-15% faster at a base level but that is about it. Drops are obviously a hot topic to address but I always receive plenty of loot during campaign play through to beat the story and get into mapping without trading

I'm trying to come up with a soft compromise. I know what the problem is..... Its "The Vision" which i think on Johnathan is rather dim at the moment. If they wanna make the game into a slogfest they need to give back to the players willing to put up with this crap.

Naw, no compromise. It's not needed. We had this essentially in 0.1. It made it less painful, but the same issues were there. They dial back the loot, and the core problem is screaming in everyone's face.

I'd rather they readdress their philosophy on the core gameplay style (allow for tanky builds, so players can choose between the safe and slow versus the fast and dangerous styles) than try and cover it like at the end of 0.1.

But I do hear you, the game became playable at the end of 0.1.... And was fun. I too just want to play their damn game and have fun hahaha.

"The Vision" is all about making the game a slogfest. Like everything in general is a slogfest. Its what the devs wanted. Well they have it in 0.2 and slogfest it is. I don't think "The Vision" fits well into what classic arpg's have always been about which is loot, character progression and efficiency. All the nerfs in 0.2 patch completely changed all that except for a few builds that are actually efficient but i bet money they will nerf them soon and then the huge portion of the player base will basically quit at that point as their wont be a viable build that is efficient.

I think some of the vision stuff I have heard from Jonathan is they wanted to make a PoE adjacent game, that didn't require a PhD to play. On top of that, they don't want one button builds ideally and would rather players reach a high powerscale through the use of multiple skill gems rather than one (sparks for example).
I don't dislike that vision, I think Diablo is too simple and clunky, Last Epoch has some nice complexity but feels like I am playing Diablo with a skill tree... clunky.
PoE1 wasn't too fun for me, cause I like complexity but that was too much. Plus the gameplay is so fast it feels like a dopamine farm instead of a game (Which is fine, just not my taste). PoE2 feels like it is the game I want, and it certainly felt good in 0.1 after some loot adjustment... But the same issue rears its head. Jonathan somehow thinks you can have a game that has mechanics that deal absurd damage quickly, that punishes uncontrolled mobility, but punishes complex builds, be a fun game. I think that is the biggest issue, and I think a good thing is that they are running into it right now with the crappy loot rolls. God tier or close rolls were able to bandage this very contradictive philosophy. I think they fix that philosophy, hopefully away from forcing everyone into glass cannon builds, and I think PoE2 will be solid. Cause, I mean... We already have diablo, Last Epoch, and PoE1. We don't need another clone of either of those three games.
I must apologize to all the Karens

I used to say that they are the group of people that suck the fun out of everything

But now this is not true anymore, they have GGG as contenders

The problem is that the main player base that has played other arpg's and is used to efficiency. "The Vision" changed everything about the game into being non efficient. Everything from the combat to the character progression to the loot all nerfed down into being non efficient I dunno why Johnathan or anyone is hung up on the so called "one button clears". I don't care if its 1 button, 2 button or 3 button to clearing screens of mobs. The bottom line is simple. Do you have efficiency or not? The answer is we technically do on very few builds that are known at this time. But if they nerf current known builds which i think is likely. We will likely have slogfest all over again even in the endgame and the game will die a quick death as players will exit the game.
If this is "The Vision" for the game it wont take too long before people get tired of slogging and quit.
