Loot and crafting: is it only me that think it's looking too bad?
I mean in general POE2 has the potential to be the greatest arpg of all time in my books. But currently GGG's decisions in terms of loot progression and crafting have been worse than even what Blizzard can do. And that's the lowest bar you can get.

You're always underpowered, struggling to find minimally useful rolls in rares and crafting is a gambling system designed to pay off once out of a thousand times. Really I have a hard time imagining that people actually sat in a room and discussed that this is their vision for loot and crafting.

It's a shame because this is such a core element of arpg fantasy. It has the potential to make the game simply unplayable for a lot of players that want the power fantasy.

I really don't know what their vision is in terms of "fun" for loot in general, but currently the game seems to be underdelivering big time and there's no improvement for the near future

Jonathan said that if it wasn't hard, no one would play :D It lost 75% of its 600,000 players... The lickspittle 25% is praising the game here. More than half of them are doing rmt. They don't care about the development of the game...
people were crying for mf to be removed or toned down so everybody's on an equal footing.

i dont feel like this was a step into the right direction. loot is just too sparce now. MF does little to help, it feels pointless.

The RNG is what drives the RMT. the whales are keeping the developers alive. So it's needed. How bad that RNG is dependent on the player.

but the devs dont get money from RMT. RMT is from shady websites botting currency and selling it illegally.
Too much loot dropping can be bad, like in Diablo 4. But too little like it is now for POE2 (plus irrelevant things dropping too) is just the worst.

Can't review bad crafting if you're not given enough materials to craft.

People wanting this are not looking for equal footing.
The point of removing MF is so you can focus on making your character stronger (as it should be) and you get your MF from running harder content as a result of having a stronger character.

You should always aim to make your character stronger. Not how weak can I make my character and still reliably clear content.

Edit: The MF meta that plagued PoE1 was pretty bad.
Equip all the worst items in the game, socket cast on death + portal, and see how hard HH can carry you.
Then you take that mountain of divines you found... and make a real character? But you don't want to play that real character because he doesn't find anything?
Its a stupid cycle. Needs to go.

This game is nothing but a base they will work upon by adding mechanics from leagues we play(I hope they introduce them abit rarer then in PoE myself). If ofc they follow the course of PoE development, which seems they are so far. The early days of PoE were rough looking back, but it still manged to be successful. I guess time will tell.

Same people that did in PoE more or less.... Its weird you have a problem understanding this.
