Things like these. The actual damage nerfs were mostly well deserved and livable. The functionality nerfs were soul crushing.
Terrible players that think they are 'gamers' and actual gamers that hate certain functionality stuff. A lot of people are starting huntress (spears, but also as the class) and haven't figured out any of the combos that trivialize campaign starting as early as about lvl 7. Spears skills would be a great contender for those races that warriors dominated. tl:dr if people aren't handed power with zero effort, they throw tantrums.
I mean even if you could do that. The game is so boring and tedious that people still would not have fun with the game.
POE 1 button skills is more fun than the 4+ skills you use in this game. At least that one button has impact.

You see, it does not matter if they are streamers or not. They are better than us because they play it more. They understand the game better than you, and know the ends and outs of the game.

People are critical of the game because they've done just about everything possible to strip away player efficacy in order to draw out the game. It's the antithesis to the ARPG genre....it's really the antithesis to gaming period, it's not fun or engaging, it's drawn out and slow in all the wrong ways.
They've turned the game into a tedious slog for no good reason. Not more difficult, just tedious.
Nothing about the combat in this game warrants the new time to kill, slowed down movement speeds, etc. - it is not engaging enough to remain fun for most players. It's just doing the same thing we were doing before, but it takes longer and the rewards are less.
There is no power creep. You do not feel any kind of gains off new levels and gear. It's just this linear "this is all taking so long" grind.
A lot of the stuff they've introduced to the game is just flat out not viable in maps, and a lot of people struggled through the campaign only to discover this, with no way out due to the cost of a respec and slog to grind out new gear.
It's just...bad...tedious, uninspired, needlessly punishing...bad...
You can't try and have methodical, difficult combat while building the end game around grinding the same content over and over again for incremental upgrades and having packs of mobs that do unavoidable damage in numbers so great that the mechanics you're implementing to try and make that combat feel slow and methodical are totally negated by them...they're going in the opposite direction of how they should, the game needs a complete rework of mob density and how they interact with the player and the character itself needs more engaging core mechanics if this is the route they want to go.
