After Huntress it became very obvious......
.... the whole Meele system in POE2 sucks! Its was awefull with Warrior and even worse to some point with Huntress.
Is it playable? yes of course.
Is it Fun? Well sometimes.....
Is it Balanced? Absolutly NOT

The whole gameplay with permanent dodging is a pain for Meele. Cause everytime you dodge you need to first reposition yourself before attacking again. All the ranged characters can dodge, shoot, dodge, shoot........
Meele are at a HUGE disadvantage by game design. Wich would be ok if you get some compensation... yet you dont get one.

Also the Whole Block / Parry thing. It plays nice but requires EXTREMLY good attention every second. Its exhausting after a while.

You need to parry, then counter to generate resources that you can use on next skill.
Meanwhile a range character just rightklicks a spell on enemy for exact same damage.

It just feels sooo bad to have alot of effort while other classes have 0 effort for the same or even better effect.

It realy cumulates into a pile "dog-leftover" in the trials where you just have to NOT even get hit thanks to useless Honorsystem.

Whenever you play a meele character it feels like the game wants you to make your character run without meele and look for ranged options.

To me it realy seems the game was fully designed for only ranged combat form scratch on. Meele got just added laters.

well it feels not bad the point ist the whole effort for doing less then ranged characters who just rightklick and thats it.

you can eventually get combat frenzy aura and get your charges without needing to parry. pretty stupid system though

Also we could delete game for such game design :) Works well.
Devs should realize that they CANT do game close to soulslike in ARPG style.
in the time I sit there like a doofus with my buckler raised to parry I can do more DPS with just auto attack. . .

. . .the parry combos also do not out dps just auto attack.


this with maces to, dps wise auto attack spam just wins.

learn the attack animations for parryable attacks, don't just sit there waiting for a parry the whole time. your able to interrupt any attack with a parry so if your in the middle of an attack and a parryable attack is coming in, just hit the parry button.

your telling be NOTHING new. i know that and i can do that. As i said its playable. But the amount of effort you need to pull things off compared to ranged characters is TOTALY OFF BALANCE.

even with "perfect parries"
there is still an animation that plays when you raise your buckler to parry, an animation that plays when you parry, a long as heck animation for disengage for the frenzy charge, into the long animation for the payoff skill. . .



so piano 3-5 buttons perfectly every time or just hold one and do more dps. . .

. . .you seriously cant see which one is better?



even rake spam does more dps then combos by just taking the aggravated bleed keystone passive. . .

Warrior isn't too bad this time around. Problem is, people are so spoilt with spin to win that they forget how to fight.

yep warrior is playable but again the EFFORT you need to put into is totlay OFF BALANCE compared to range characters. Its not even NEAR the effort of a ranged character.

After tested Huntress 'till lvl 18 I tried Warrior and felt much comfortable. Still I uninstalled game because of slow motion was not my type of taste. I could go for pure-ranged classes but I disappointed for Huntress already and lost my temptation.

Did you ever consider that some people like to actually do something more complicated than hold down one key? I would uninstall the game if the game was just holding down one button on all classes and one shotting everything.
Not saying huntress is perfect or anything and they should give more tools to get charges since they build the whole character around them, but i am enjoying my warrior.

They dont even have a single true melee class. Even War eventually will be all ranged abilities. No pure melee class exists really because the way they design boss fights the pure melee classes would be screwed. Too much crap on the ground near bosses, too many mechanics that dont allow melee, too many bosses teleport constantly. Only ranged classes really can prevail as a result all classes have ranged abilities.

I fear for the Rogue class
The main issue for me is that all of this comboing merely gets you baseline performance.

It's not making a good skill better, it's just making a terrible skill perform ok.

And the whole in/out melee/range hybrid playstyle idea is doomed from the start simply due to action economy. The travel and set up time is just not worth it at base. And then you throw all of the additional time you waste by having to play around mechanics on top of that.

The temp bubble, floor is lava rare doesn't give ashit about your attempts to combo. Neither do 80% of the boss movesets.
