It's not that they have to rely on it, it's how the character is built and shoehorning a class into such a limited playstyle sucks. With all the bonus damage coming from expending frenzy charges...it's not great, especially since getting a frenzy charge feels like rng when the auto aim completely misses parries and everything
As for mercenary comment, your huntress can use a crossbow too, while having the same or even better experience.
Here's a build tip: Remember your are not just stuck to martial weapon skills, but spells are part of your arsenal... Power overwhelming.
The whirlwind and tornado combo is nice but having to cast whirlwind 3 times to get the desired affect and it having a weird pause between casts makes it clunky. Not to mention you get hammered trying to cast it 2 more times after the initial cast that it isn't worth taking if you are close to mid-range. Really want Druid though since seeing the tornado. :(
If she could get into combat and back out quickly and there wasn't such a pause between certain skills she could be fun but currently it feels unsatisfying and not as smooth as I would like. Not even grabbing the deal melee damage increases ranged damage and vise versa because I am either building only range or only melee. The two combined don't flow smoothly right now.
