Path of Exile 2

Who is even using "Flameblast" as if an important skill in their build?!?
I mean they wanted caster builds totally removed from history that I can understand, but! BUT! Many skills like this one was really necessary to nerf? I thought they are gonna buff some spells to be countable. Lol I was wrong.

"Flameblast now has a 15 second Cooldown (previously none), and now has 75% more damage per Stage (previously 200%). It now has an Explosion radius of 0.6 metres per Stage (previously 0.4), and Quality now provides 0-20% more Cast Speed (previously 0-10%)."

A garbage spell skill just nerfed by adding a 15 seconds CD. Really interesting and GGG is surprising me.

pretty sure the main reason is the infernalist demon form flameblast builds however i do think it was a little much since they also nerfed demon form
I think one of the things GGG wants is for people to be using multiple skills.
15s cooldown, but bigger AoE and faster casting means they want you dropping this on magic packs instead of map bosses and rares.

Also with the 100 support gems coming, there might be some that works for the cooldown, like 100% more damage per second on coooldown or -100% cooldown but +50% cast time, or whatever.

Don't forget that we still don't know anything about about the new skills and support gems.
I sure hope they do something for searchability in the support list. It was already annoying trying to work out which gems actually did anything for your skills, instead of just doing nothing and muddying the UI.

I use it and I'm surprised it was nerfed so much!!!
Maybe there's going to be a support gem that could put it over the top without the nerfs. People seem to be forgetting the many factors we don't know about, that could be the reason for a lot of the nerfs. Could be a unique item, or a support gem we don't know about.

There's a possibility that support gems like crescendo, magnified effect, potential and controlled destruction may make this work?

Lol. No one anywhere used Flameblast, most people looked it up for the first time after the nerf. Everyone is like, "Flameblast? wha?"

There are no demon form flame blast builds that are even slightly good. Demon form runs fireball, comet, hexblast, and spark primarily. Flame blast is and always has been an awful choice. Demon form does not have the time to be charging 3 seconds in between every cast, it's counter-intuitive to the way it plays.

It already didn't do insane damage though, so now it has a very slightly larger aoe and less than half of its original damage. That doesn't make sense with your explanation. Why drop the damage by such an insane amount just to add one of the longest skill CDs in the game? It's doesn't give an incentive you to use more skills, it's an incentive to use even less. As now only a handful of skills are powerful enough to be viable at end game. The support gems and uniques might balance it out though. I just don't expect much from those considering how bad GGG did with the current supports gems and uniques. 90% of them are never used for anything, not even niche builds. And from the uniques they previewed, none were even slightly good.

It was my main spell along with very high slow aura, just walking around popping mobs without any issues :D
