Yes, the new league will have a completely new and separate economy, which will help quite a bit (at least for a while) as people settle into things and items start to appear.
The economy will always get crazy. Thats just how it is when items are constantly getting added to the server and never getting removed.
Its like this in PoE1 also and is also why nobody wants to play Standard.
I think if you want better economy, you need to play HC. People die, items go poof, new items need to be traded/farmed on a regular basis.
In the future when they do proper leagues with exclusive content, THATS when you do the league.
New ascendancies for existing classes make little difference and perform more like stat sticks, so can ignore if you are a non content creator. Similarly the "100"+ support is stat sticks modifier as they just modify existing skill gems. Basically very little gameplay difference if you have already tried out those skills. E.g maybe hit a little faster or harder with same animation... Been there , done that.
If I am to play, I'll pick standard and only test huntress and the the new skill gems like raise spectre (E.g my detonate dead might replace my brute fodder with a tankier spectre). Zoom zoom act 1 to 3 with my wanderlust right at the start and crafted OP starter spear. That's all.
