Path of Exile 2

After patch: Standard or new league
I would like to know which league is recommended to play on. I do not care that much about economy reset, i just want to play on the server with most players on it. Is there a way to see how many players are on which league?

New league every time. Fresh economy is fun. Fresh character to experience new content is fun. In poe 1 for example, probably 95% of people play the new league.

Yeah, league will most likely have all the players.

even though I'm SSF all the way I'll hit the new League. But I'm weird and like levelling. Been looking forwards to it a week already.
Did they say there was going to be a economy reset?? and even if they did do y'all think we wont have the crazy economy we had last time??

Yes, the new league will have a completely new and separate economy, which will help quite a bit (at least for a while) as people settle into things and items start to appear.
this gotta be the room temp iq post of the day.

Yes, league is fresh new start/economy.
The economy will always get crazy. Thats just how it is when items are constantly getting added to the server and never getting removed.
Its like this in PoE1 also and is also why nobody wants to play Standard.

I think if you want better economy, you need to play HC. People die, items go poof, new items need to be traded/farmed on a regular basis.

Staying in standard for sure, can experience all the new content and use all the items and currency I have already farmed. Seems a no-brainer. I don't know why they call it a new league, should be called "Standard 2".
In the future when they do proper leagues with exclusive content, THATS when you do the league.

This is way different than a poe1 league though. For .2 the new league and the old league will be identical. The reason people switch to new league in poe1 is league mechanics that are exclusive to the new league. Poe2 does not have that. All league mechanics will also be in the old league, meaning a huge portion of players who don't like leveling will just stay on their old character. If poe2 switches to the poe1 league style, then tons of people will be on the new league. But i'm willing to bet quite a lot that the new league either has fewer players or almost same number of players as the old league for .2. There's just no reason to switch outside the economy reset.

If you make a new character there usually is no reason to do so in Standard, meaning League would probably be better. Also, most players do always play in the current League, so it usually always has more players than the Standard league.

It's not really a new "league" per say. Since all the mechanics are also available in the EA standard, you can twink and bypass/speed through a lot of repeat old content with your accumulated loot and just test out the new class/weapon system , aka 25 new skills.

New ascendancies for existing classes make little difference and perform more like stat sticks, so can ignore if you are a non content creator. Similarly the "100"+ support is stat sticks modifier as they just modify existing skill gems. Basically very little gameplay difference if you have already tried out those skills. E.g maybe hit a little faster or harder with same animation... Been there , done that.

If I am to play, I'll pick standard and only test huntress and the the new skill gems like raise spectre (E.g my detonate dead might replace my brute fodder with a tankier spectre). Zoom zoom act 1 to 3 with my wanderlust right at the start and crafted OP starter spear. That's all.
