but
if you want to play with the new economy there will be a new league. These two leagues have the same content. only the new one will start with a new economy.
Play current characters with current economy and all new content woven in, meaning refunded skill points etc
Make new character in new economy
It isnt a league, no league mechanics etc. Its just an update
People who want a fresh economy go make a new character on that league when it opens. People who dont want to remake a character and keep on playing their characters/ keep their items can still stay on their current standard league it doesnt matter because they still get the patch as well.
whats probably gonna happen is per update they're gonna combine those update leagues to the EA standard league. IE when the druid patch comes out, huntress league will join standard league and druid league becomes a new fresh economy league
However, their exception is to allow the previous EAL1 (EA League 1) to ALSO get the content that will be added in v0.2.0. They've also said this is likely the only time they will be doing it, as it's not their typical process.
It's just to please the people who don't want a reset, and to the actual smart people who do.
It IS technically a new league.
It's a new economy, hence locking the old currency and gear in the OLD league with the OLD chars, but giving ACCESS to the content and changes in v0.2.0.
The new league will have a new economy, new gear and new chars.
It's not a true league, no. Both the "New economy 'League'" and the Old Characters 'League' will get all of the updates at the same time. You can experience all of the new stuff either way you play. So not the same as POE 1 League mechanic.
It depends on how you define a 'league'.
IS:
1) New chars on new that can't interact with old, infers a new league.
2) New economy for new chars that can't be used/spent with old chars = new league.
IS NOT:
1) New content = new league? Well, it's not new 'unique' content, as it's just an update of the existing content, playable by both old and new chars...so this would infer NOT a new league.
I'd suggest it's new, but just not quite as the definition used previously in PoE 1, and not as 'new' as the future content sounds like it will be set up.
Game announced in 2019, so about 5 years of development by now, come out as EA in 2024 to grab some quick cash with a release date of 6 mths to 1 year. A roadmap showing act 1 to 6, 12 classes with 36 ascendancy for release even with a video with druid gameplay.
And here we are almost 4 months in, the amount of update in patch 0.2 is tiny and now I'm slightly annoyed with the false advertisement as it's now difficult to even hit the 1 year target.
You would be more annoyed if the final product was terrible.
back in 2019 the gameplay ideology for POE 2 was vastly different. They went through a few iterations and that is how game development works. You try a few things out, see what you like and what you don't like and then work towards a final product. Games take YEARS to develop.
What a garbage statement as there's no "final" product but there's a deadline with deliverables. No one knows if it's "good" or "terrible". It's a live service f2p game, stop shilling and it's been at least 5 years, you don't announce if it's not started, and they have all the iterations and whatever nonsense that's needed to be done. YEARS already went by, and I don't want DECADES.
You must have never delivered a product before, within or beyond scope. Less of being a game developer or even be part of any turnkey software development.
You have a lot of anger it seems and probably a waste of my time to actually try to be civil with you. My bad. Guess I'm better off just blocking you.
Too bad that you don't understand game development.
I'm slightly annoyed with poe 2 progress. Now more annoyed on subject matter with nonsense from you. That's all.
