The "GetAdapterInfo" error in Path of Exile 2 typically relates to issues with GPU or monitor configurations. Here are some potential fixes based on user reports and troubleshooting steps:

Common Fixes for "GetAdapterInfo" Error
Disconnect Secondary Monitors:

Disconnect any additional monitors, launch the game, and then reconnect the monitors. This workaround has resolved the issue for several users.

Change Screen Resolution:

Set your display to its native resolution (e.g., 4K), launch the game, adjust settings as needed, save, and then revert to your preferred resolution (e.g., 1080p). This has worked for others.

Adjust Refresh Rate:

Lower your monitor's refresh rate (e.g., from 144Hz to 60Hz) and try launching the game again. Some users found this resolved the issue.

Reinstall Specific GPU Drivers:

For NVIDIA users, rolling back to an older driver version (e.g., 552.22) has been a consistent fix for some players. Ensure you uninstall current drivers before reinstalling.

Run as Administrator:

Right-click the game executable and select "Run as Administrator." This can help resolve permission-related issues.

Compatibility Mode:

Set the game executable to run in compatibility mode for an older version of Windows (e.g., Windows 7) in the file properties.

Verify Game Files:

If using Steam, verify the integrity of game files to ensure no corrupted files are causing the issue.

Check GPU/Monitor Setup:

The error may stem from mismatched monitor setups (e.g., different resolutions or refresh rates across multiple monitors). Align these settings if possible.

Linux/Proton Users:

If running on Linux via Proton, ensure your graphics drivers are up-to-date and compatible with the game.

Additional Notes
This error is tied to how the game retrieves GPU/monitor information using the GetAdapterInfo function, which can fail due to hardware/software mismatches or driver issues.

If none of these solutions work, consider reaching out to Path of Exile support or checking forums for updates on fixes.

Thank you for your reply. I used to be able to play, but after some patch updates, I can't anymore. I only have a 2K screen. Anyway, I will try all of them later. Thank you!

A friend had the HDMI connector plugged into the motherboard, not the graphics card, and it was causing this.
