t8-t10's are too low to expect gains, you gotta get to true endgame with full atlas speced out.
This is also false.
No one truly knows what works and what doesnt. Only the devs can clarify this and they are in the process of fixing drops again for the new eco league so all this info will be old news anyway in a few weeks.
Most valuable drops come from rare monster and unique bosses. So make sure to skill your atlas skill tree ( especially in the beginning ) to add more rare monster and to duplicate 1 rare monster. its the left branch in the tree. Avoid the essence monster, not worth the points.
Later: The reason why certain people have 100+ divines in their bank and sell+buy items for 40 divines is because all those divines were accumulated from trading, not dropping.
1000 people drop 1 divine in a week for example, they trade it for 250+ exalts cause they need them for trading in their stage of progression for example. Through constant trading those 1000 divines will eventually find their way to 10 people, very active people who know how to generate items to sell, they know what to grind for, how to effictivly use their time, howw to make strong builds that can clear maps quick and reach citadels etc pp, you get the idea.
Now those 10 people keep playing with their 100 divines, while the other 1000 people who each dropped 1 divine in one week of play maybe have no time to play, to continue, maybe they start a fresh character, maybe they switch games. Or maybe their wives got mad :D
And thats how endgame wealth works in poe IN A NUTSHELL. Its way more complicated.
How to build wealth:
- The ritual mechanic is very popular right now, if you get an "audience to the king" thats easy 7,5 divines just via the currency exchange, no player-player trade needed. Certain omens are worth over 4500 exalts, but getting them requires investments, not good for a starter.
- You can even sell blue "ritual tablets" that rolled with "increased tribute" or "monster respawn as rares", between 40 and 80 exalts. YOU WILL GET SPAMMED FOR THEM, cause everyone wants them
- Later you can clear citadels for the boss fragments, 2 of them are about 220 ex each, the copper one is worth 440+ ex
- Doing breaches and getting splinters 300 > 1 breachstone, is worth 200 ex
- If your build is stable later, you can run 10-wave chaos trials the entire day if you want, guaranteed 3 soulcores AND 1 bossfragment, elemental soulcore is 45 ex, increase mana is 65 and the one with increaesed rarity is even 600+ exalts, bossfragments are 20, 18 and the right one is 60 exalts.
Prices may change depending when you read my post.
Those are just a few examples how i would start if i would start a new league. There are plenty more
good luck
Make sure to install a price-helping tool. I recommend "Sidekick"
-15 exalt
-3 chaos (18ex)
-1 chance orb worth of scrap uniques (4ex)
-About 40 whetstones/scraps (15ex)
-1 Stellar amulet (120ex)
-1 L79 expedition logbook (not sure yet, 120ex i think)
Now i'm sure i got lucky with those last 2 drops and that wont happen every 1,5 hours session. But so far you can see the total value is 292ex, or a little over 1 divine. Only 33 of that is direct currency drops.
Besides this it would probably be possible for experienced players to squeeze out more value by improving some of the drops i find with trans-aug-regal-exalt-chaos orbs. I am not that experieced player either though, so i barely even pick any of that up. I rather fill my stash with any items that have quality on them so i get those whetstones and scraps to sell. Use a loot filter to highlight those.
So thats the first step, build a character that can do maps gradually increasing to T15. That can be done with all ex-level priced items. In this case a lucky session, but maybe 1/3 to 1/2 divine per hour would be normal average value, though it much depends on your build. I am a Leapslam warrior, i'm sure theres people with different characters that laugh about such hourly rate because those can clear maps much faster.
The next step is citadels. Since you speak of T10 maps, you are probably not ready to beat the bosses, but you soon will be ready for them. In my Warrior experience, you may want your equipment to be worth a few divines to take on these bosses. Much of it is skill for sure, you have to practice a bit and know their moves so you can dodge everything. But you do want to deal enough damage so the fight doesn't take minutes, the longer it takes, the more chance for you to make a lethal mistake.
Each citadel boss drops an item worth a little over 1 divine. So when you get prepared to beat those bosses, and you find say 1 citadel every 20 maps, that adds another half div per hour and now you are already grinding a total of 1 div per hour.
After that you would get in the phase where you can beat the higher up bosses and maybe sell your services to do that or swtich from selling those citadel boss drop items to buying them and selling the highly valuable items those end game bosses drop. I have not yet reached this level in PoE2. I'm sure those bosses are also mostly practice in dodging their lethal attacks. But still it is probably very helpful if you spend a few divines more on your gear so again, the fights don't take too long. Doing this you can probably make multiple div per hour.
The final step is reaching mirror value wealth. (a phase which i only reached once long ago in PoE1) Now you can do the expensive omen crafting and spend 100s and 100s of divines on creating the very best item on the market for a popular build and sell mirror copy services on that. (basically you mirror the item for the customer at a price of a mirrror + 50 divines or so and hope to sell many, many copies)
If you practice a lot and learn to beat all those bosses with minimal gear requirements, that would help you tremendously in climbing trough these stages faster. Espescially early in a league when the market is not yet flooded with pretty strong items for 1ex.
decided to start a Solo character.. if I have access to trade, I will stay on a dumb website trying to find a decent item to buy instead of playing the game.. and what have I found so far? - it's WAY more rewarding starting from scratch without access to your coins, you now have to find the items and actually be smart about how you build your character, GIVEN what you have actually found.. - there is no reason to stack currency, while before I almost never used Exalted other than for trades, now I burn them without mercy if I reckon an item could become an upgrade.. same with Vaal Orbs, Chaos and Divines.
and a friend in Discord pushing hard keeps me updated: - it was 150 Exalted per Divine, now its 250, etc etc... like, do I even care? - coins on SSF are worth exactly the same, be it on a low level item you need to progress or a high level item you also need to progress.
on a side note, IF you wish to continue with Trade System, your best attribute in all pieces is Rarity - you need on all of your Gear, it's better than damage.. you need to keep your defence and attack just at the point you can go by, no need for overkill on either.. Rarity increase WILL, for a fact, makes you get way more coins.. still, it's unlikely you will beat a bunch of bots inflating the market, and by the time you get your 40 Divines for an item, that same item will be 60 or 80 Divines.
