I hope they put some actual fun into it, right now it is complete crap as far as I'm concerned. Dying once and it's over is idiotic. Leave that for some portion of the game for those who enjoy having someone put shivs under their fingernails. I am not that person.
If I die I do get mad sometimes depending on how I died, but I am dying on gold maps that I have juiced up and made more dangerous for that extra reward.
If you get knocked down, get the hell back up soldier.
Overcoming challenges is what makes the game fun for me. I will never forget killing that damn Act 1 boss for the first time. My whole body was tingling.
This IS why I quit the game until some major patches fix this, I leveled almost every class to 80+ and maps is the best/worst part of the game for me, Out of every death I've had since EA started, its been completely unfair one shots, or stepping in a puddle for 0.1 seconds and insta-death etc, this makes compared to losing all your map buffs bad enough, on top of +10% exp loss.
Heck, I've even died to nothing, just died soon as entering a map with no mobs LOL - definitely bugs and issues with them, I have no doubts they'll fix it - but considering its been over a month since the last big patch, and only small stability fixes since then, this could take a while to figure out whats causing this problem.
T3 is why, once you start getting to higher tiers, you'll start to experience it a lot more often. At T1 to T5 when I first did it, it was no problem at all - then T6 and first random instant death occurred and after that difficulty just goes all over the place, some maps you'll destroy...then on the next map 1 shot dead, and defenses don't seem to matter, if you have max evasion, it doesn't evade special attacks or spells = one shot, Armors DR doesn't seem to help either and have insanely high ES + HP + max resists is the only way to go, and even that isn't guaranteed at T15+
To put it bluntly, the games defense design is bad and does not work. They looked at other games defenses like Diablo etc, where you can get such high evasion that you can basically dodge everything, they didn't want that....or have such high Armor that your damage reduction makes you take 1hp dmg from the biggest boss hits...they didn't want that either, so what you have instead is a broken mess that only seems to partially work.
