Good uniques
I've tried looking but my searches only come up with top few chase items. It seems like all uniques are worthless besides the couple everyone looks for? Is there some kind of list I can refer to of uniques that are worth more than a regal orb? With all the price fixing I've just been crunching down the ones that I've no interest in ever using since I spend so much time and wasted space trying to figure out if an item is worth anything.

Stop thinking in conspiracy theories. It is not price fixing. It is markets of supply and demand.
If you change the way you think like that you'll be in a much better position to understand and play the markets.

Yes the majority or uniques are worthless. You either buy a special stash tab for them to make a pretty collection, or you just scrap them all into chance orbs.

What i do is i have a quad tab priced at 5ex where i dump all the uniques i find. (and other stuff i think might be usefull)

If within minutes i get multiple messages, i look up what its really worth and reprice it.

If i get messages after like 15 mins or more, i just sell it for the 5 ex i listed it for.

End of the day, i rename it a 3ex tab.
End of next day, i rename it a 1ex tab.
End of that day, you scrap whats left and you rename the tab 5ex again so you have 3 tabs that everything cycles trough over 3 days.

try looking up pillar of caged gods on trade, alot of people just put it up for 1ex and dont reply. Had a handful of people when you messaged them they would say "Oh i put it at the wrong price and its really this price" That is a form of price fixing or market manipulation if you want to put it in economic terms. Alot of people new to trade (me included) have a really hard time selling stuff at the correct price. The game needs a in game AH badly.
Ah yes, i have seen that practice too. People posting a bunch of stuff way under value hoping that will make other people post it for that price. They do that espescially with reasonably valuable craftables. Thing is, that is easy to detect because they have their active search running and you will get multiple messages the instant you post the item. If that is the case, you know you are mispricing.

If you are willing to spend the time, you could also see it by scrolling down the list of prices and see the abnormal jump in pricing.

I dont really consider this price fixing since it doesn't really alter the market price. Its just giving out false information hoping for people to fall for it. And its quite easy to recognize anyway.

Seems like both responders were banned but anyways good ideas in there I guess it's just annoying sorting through chaff to find value. Watch one of these days I'll crunch one of the big chase items cause it looks like gibberish to my dude
It's a little demotivating spending 80 hours ingame and never finding a single unique that goes with my build. But I guess that's just luck.

Its the only game i encounter such a sad conditions with unique items. People through it away before even indetify them. Others dont even pick it from the ground. In endgame Drop rate should be 1:1.000.000 instead of 1/200. But when they drop everyone should be crazy about them couse of the bonus it gives wich should be at least 30% batter than the best rare item. Obviously POE2 goes against the philosophy of unique items and disappointed people.

Just found a unique Bone Wand that gave 100% extra spell damage but it did worse DPS than my Rare bone wand that did 56% spell damage + 20% cast speed.

Ah well. The hunt continues.
uniques come in 2 flavours and that's why you get groups of people who think uniques should be 'superior' versions of a rare. sadly in poe 1 and 2 you'll find a good chunk of low level uniques that do exactly that; they are hands-down, stat-for-stat better.

there's a term being thrown around the internet these days and that's anchoring. if you're old, the idiom "first impressions, last". new players are literally being conditioned into thinking uniques = higher grade than rare.

in reality, unique was intended to be literal. they're suppose to change a mechanic or something about your build or class entirely or 'uniquely'. i wish all uniques could be like Chains of Command in POE 1 instead of Horns of Bynden in POE 2.

Solution are many about items. Make unique with orange color and put another category ( Superior Extremly Rare items) with red color and everyone will be happy! Drop rate should be 1 in million!

There are very few unique items that are build enabling, and those are often expensive ones. Common build does not need any unique items and rare items are just fine. There are some mid-tier unique items that have general purpose, for example Hand of Wisdom and Action, that are pricey early but drop to reasonable price level later.

PoE2 has bigger issue with unique items compared to PoE1, most PoE2 uniques are either completely useless, leveling gear or broken for some builds. There are very few general purpose unique items anyone can put in their build if they want to. I hope GGG will adjust unique items, add new ones for end-game and does not solely focus on ultra rare chase items.

most people need at least 10ex for them to get out the map and trade. frankly, you should just dm some other dude who list higher price. ex are dirt cheap now, pretty easy to farm.

try +4 spell level wand. that is the priority stat spell caster need. hellm even a +5 would not be expensive for any non-lightining builds. cast speed is kinda a trap, it inflates your dps. if you are crit build just go for crit.
haha people still defending this hilariously bad item system , meanwhile the game dropped to 150k with no sign of stopping the SINCE DAY 1 CONSTANT drop in players

You're approaching this wrong. In PoE unique items only exist for their unique effects. They are usually not better than a good rare quality item, unless the unique effect they provide enables your character to do something that they wouldn't normally be able to.

This is intentional so that rare items and crafting remain relevant throughout the game.

Most caster weapon uniques are leveling items, but GGG kinda forgot that the implicit skills scale with itemlevel and increase required level. This makes said items useless for leveling if they drop in a high level zone or map. Hopefully a fix will arrive eventually.
The way I approach it is most Unique Items are great for trying new build ideas through the campaign and are, in most cases, not used in mapping past maybe tier 1 or 2, if that. Generally they get put away as you find better, more specific gear towards mapping.
