Passive +2 to evasion per 1 maximum ES on helmet?
I'm struggling to understand the effect of this passive.

My first thought was, I currently have 243 ES on my helmet, which would be double that for evasion if it works that way. However I lose over 3000 evasion when I take it off, so this doesn't make sense to me.

The next thing I thought of was the affix, +13 to maximum ES but again this would result in 26 evasion rating. Obviously that doesn't add up.

I do have 89% increased ES on my helmet but this only takes effect locally (no?), hence why my helmet is boosted to 243 ES.

It takes over 6000 evasion when I un-allocate this passive too.

Does anyone understand or can explain to me how this actually works? I'm due a new head piece and I'm adjusting my passives so it would be helpful to know.

Also I have an Iron rune that adds 20% increased Defences.

Thanks.

that evasion is multiplied by any increased evasion % nodes you have allocated
Subterfuge Mask notable passive...

the amount of ES listed on your helmet already factors in the % ES increase from your helmet mods, and the iron rune. so, that ES total number is multiplied by 2 to grant you a flat amount of evasion from your helmet and is added to all your other flat evasion.

then your build modifies that total flat evasion number by whatever % increased evasion from passives and certain gear mods - maybe you have an amulet that grants 30% increased evasion, for example.

depending on your total amount of flat evasion and total amount of % increased evasion, Subterfuge Mask may or may not have a significant impact. without a lot of % increased evasion, it's not going to do much for your survivability.

also, the more evasion you already have, the less of an effect more evasion has. for example, if you're already 80% total evasion or higher, the bonus from Subterfuge Mask might 'only' be another 2-3% total evasion, from 80% to 83%.

Without bothering to get into it deeply... I mean, yeah, it should be kinda obvious you have to include the fact you have probably a billion other things affecting evasion in a percent fashion. At very least it's very obvious it wouldn't add only twice the amount of the helmet pretty much ever.
