In short, makes you more tanky and possibly improves your damage.
Darkness wont make you tanky. Its terrible at current state as you cant scale it in any way and you get like 700? At lvl 100. While ES can easily stack to 10k+. Supertiny ES traded for spirit is just bad, 4 points in "breach" skills are 100x better than 6 points in darkness.
I see, I see, does what I thought it did but there just wasn't a lot of information out there.
It should work fine and dandy as a hold over to get to better gear.
If the hit get fully consumed by darkness, you are not losing honor cuz you are not losing hp/es. It just reserver resource that is not chained to honor. Its similar to block or evade, but its more consistent cuz it works on everything, even on ground dots like burning ground.
But for general use, its too small and unscalable. And "no spirit" is huge downside, you cant even use blink in that trial, so its rly just 1trick pony that opens you room for some tiny mistake as mobs could still bypass that tiny darkness pool in one hit.
