Help Beating Jamanra the Abomination as a Ranger
I need help beating this turd. He hits me every move I make. I try and circle at a distance and roll, but every time I do an attack and roll he hits me with a projectile. I do not have any plus to movement, so maybe that is my problem?

I have a ton of Lightning Resistance, but it hardly matters, as his projectiles early on (which seem to be Fire) kill me long before I see any lightning damage.

Lastly, I have been rocking a Dual Arrow Bow, but the idiotic thing is when I shoot something like Ice Arrow or Storm Caller the 2 arrows fire so far spread apart that they do not even hit the target. Should I change the targeting to lock on?

Any helpful advice would be welcomed.

honestly, like most bosses in the story mode, all you have to do is hug him close enough where 1 roll puts you either directly behind him or just outside any aoe. Only roll away from the boss if you can't clear the aoe by rolling into him and coming out the other side.

The squishier you are, the closer you should be.

If the fight takes more than 3-5 mins then the problem is your dps and even if you finish the fight after some expert facerolling you will still keep running into issues.
(not a judgement, it happens to me all the time since I make my own builds)
Try fighting close to him. Like many bosses, their attacks are easier to evade in melee range. You should be able to maintain a high attack rate while allowing your high evasion to do its job against normal melee attacks. You'll notice he'll make many more of those small damage melee attacks because of it.

When he does area attacks in melee, then put a little distance, just enough to avoid the AoE.

Still requires sone skill, but it'll be easier.

If you have lightning resist, try raising your life.
your assistant from the caravan will put up a shield you can hide behind during the wind storm, as said, you really need to be in closer, roll behind him put down an Orb of Storms and shoot some lightning rods, abuse the herald of thunder/herald of ice spirit skills, (you might only have one of them atm). Search youtube for Vinidictions page, his guides for new players are pretty much the gold standard for new player low budget builds and he is currently putting out a guide for Ice shot Ranger, I followed his Invoker monk build and it was cheap and awesome, really well thought out. They are tough fights in act1 and act2 for a new player, you need to work out the boss mechanics and you are still learning skill setups and basic equipment, it gets easier once you get past those 2, my first run through I needed help to beat them, but by the time I made My Deadeye ranger and Monk builds I was killing them very fast.
If you do need some help, contact me in game: Blytzi_MonkInvoker
Good Luck !
If you're Ranger, look up FubGun on YT or his mobalytics page. Follow his Deadeye leveling build and you can later transition into his late game builds. Those are sure to carry you through everything with ease.

I found there are two locks for bosses. One is char level and the other is mod points. Just upgrade a few items to yellow even if those mods dont add to your build it will reduce the jank
Just beat him as a pure electric ranger (no ice or anything else). Took me 5 try. My built is quite unoptimised and I basically just barrage > Lightning Rod > Lightning Arrow.

What helped me:

75% lightning resist, 80% evade basically means the only damaging thing is big axe slash and the tornados. I dont have a lot of HP and very limited ES (100-200 top).

Use WQSD move to be able to dodge and attack easily.

The hardest thing was the last part of the fight when the gates open and you have to dodge him while avoiding the cluster ♥♥♥♥ of AoE and other visual effect wich means I usually loose my mouse pointer on the screen and have a harder time targeting him.

Look at youtube to have a detail on his attack pattern so you can identify and counter, dodge a lot, roll a lot, shoot when in between. Use the sound queue to help identify his attacks.

act 2 version? If spec into elemental/lightning damage/shock, drop a bunch of lightning rods/orb of storms at his feet and pew pew with lightning arrows, rinse repeat till he's dead.

act 5 version? kinda similar but you have cast on shock with ball lightning, so when you pew pew, a large amount of balls will appear to smash him to bits due to the shocking effect of the rods//orb of storms.

You don't need heralds to fight against boss if you are spirit limited. So swap a bunch of buff gems around, like cast on shock to be more effective...

Yeah melted him in 10 sec on both difficulties with this. Also ranger is so stupidly broken that it is easiest playtrough so far. Just put rods on ground 1 lightning arrow goes troug enemies and detonate rods + heralds and everything dies.

Often there is no much benefits in being ranged . Despite what other people might say. Standing in meele range is often easier to get away from mechanics and get 100 % hit accuracy. Most build ull see use scatter with rods in meele range and lightning arrow spam.
Hug him closer, especially if you use dual arrow bow, since you've already noticed that your shots miss, and be prepared to dodge his lighting projectiles right before he throws them if you find yourself at mid+ range. Navigating through his moving lightning rods is pattern recognition mostly and timing dodges. Still hug him close-ish in phase 2 after he slashed the cart, just more stuff to avoid when navigating around the arena.

I died a bunch of times to him when I faced him during a late night sesh, fugured I was too tired for that and beat him on first try next day. You got this!

I actually find ranged generally worse due to the arc mechanics a lot of the boss ability's have meaning the closer you are the easier it is to avoid. Most bosses = hugtime anyway so could ditch ranged and go meele anyhow. Some can be bad for meele thoo but i find the majority worse if you play ranged and try to stay at range

This guy is a pain point for a lot of people. I've found sticking close to him in the second phase to be a lot easier. 1 he doesn't use as many ranged attacks, and 2 you can dodge easier (into him, or to the sides rather than just to the sides). If attack spread is the issue being closer may help as well.

In the first phase get behind the Sekhema during the winds and keep an eye out for the two poles he shoots out. Sometimes they do the big AoE and others they just fly around linked. Keeping just away from them or dodging through can keep you alive for most of it. Aside from that his HP is a lot so you just have to hang on. Or try to see if you can find a better weapon for higher DPS.
I remember I had to level up and upgrade my equipment and bow to defeat him. Used iceshot, the ice projectile succesion (forgot how is called) and arrow rain.
