lightning is OP because of the built in damage. frost is only op because of herald of ice / polcirklen ring
most of the classes / archetypes that deal with chaos aren't in yet. ranger has chaos builds
that's because you're looking at it thinking a monk needs to use a quarterstaff and an ascendancy is there only for the base stuff of the class.
Acolyte of chayula isn't about building a staff monk. You can use mantra of destruction and hand of chayula to support the build but the main stuff is going to be occult chaos spells.
Acolyte of chayula is a caster spec. Spamming Hand of chyula buffed by mantra of destruction applying sniper's mark + despair followed by hexblast to explode them is how you use it.
You can use resonance with sniper's mark to get power charges and generate zombies for minion pact to get more damage with hexblast. Or you could keep the frenzy charges to use them to get more attack speed with hand of chayula through the frenzy support gem.
You could technically also use bow poison skills (though it's not optimal and will only really work if you use a cultist bow to get 100% chaos attack damage, thus having chaos passives fuly work with poison damage). Same deal with sniper mark, despair and hand of chayula to generate frenzy charges to use them on bow skills.
Or put more simply, I'm down with the hand of chyula with curses/marks but it's what to do with the combo point build up issue. I do think it's a bit of an 'oof' to have to build up int and dex high enough to basically borrow from the witch and the ranger pools, but that's a minor complaint.
I suppose all of the physical skills are sort of another issue entirely. The spinning strike in particularly made me sad.
i'm a bow acolyte, not true about using a cultist bow, the only reason i see to use that is for vine arrow specifically. you want a high phys dmg bow with crit and mana leech etc
btw i clear t15s+
